19/12/2024 Duración: 38minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in TJ Peterson(@parallelcircle) of Panther Pourri to the show to break down the Panthers 6-1 win over the Minnesota Wild. Florida set the tone early with getting on the board in the first few minutes of the game, thanks to the Panthers' third line getting the pucks deep and shooting through traffic on future Hall of Famer Marc-Andre Fleury. Mackie Samoskevich got on the scoresheet after the Wild failed to connected on a stretch pass, the Cats countered and Samoskevich picked the corner for his sixth of the season. The Panthers were starting to gain control of the game, and we saw signs even when a goal was disallowed due to offside, Florida had the puck in the Wild end of over a minute, but they would not be denied a few minutes later as Matthew Tkachuk not only scored once, but twice (once on the PP). The Cats shut it down in the third period and added two more goals of their own, including one that resulted in N

Panthers Win a SCF Rematch Thriller in Comeback Fashion!
17/12/2024 Duración: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) breaks down the Panthers 6-5 win over the Edmonton Oilers in their first meeting since Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final Rematch. The Panthers set the tone early with their special teams getting two goals in the first period, including Jesper Boqvist's first short-handed goal of his career. Now the Panthers have eight on the season. Florida had a bit of adversity in the second giving up three goals in 3:04, which two of the goals against were a bit head scratching. Panthers got the game within one toward the end of the second period, and one big check by Jonah Gadjovich in the in the neutral zone changed the momentum of the hockey game, where the Panthers scored twice in a 30-second span, including an incredible sharp angle shot by Sam Reinhart for his 20th goal of the season. The Oilers have been led by Leon Draisaitl, who has passed Sam Reinhart in goals this season, along with providing a more defensively sound game. Panthers Get Shutout in Vancouver, Again. Canucks Speed Bit Them in 4-0 Loss
13/12/2024 Duración: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) to break down the Panthers' 4-0 loss against the Vancouver Canucks for their second straight shutout loss in British Columbia. The Panthers faced a goaltender who has had their number over the years in Kevin Lankinen, but the Panthers did not get goalied on Thursday night. Florida was unable to get second chance opportunities as Vancouver forced a lot of one-and-done's and when the Panthers were caught on bad lines changes/out of position, there was a definite speed advantage. The Canucks also got an emotional boost with JT Miller returning to the lineup after missing the last 10 games (personal reasons), and it quickly manifested just over two minutes into the game. Panthers were playing catch up and even with having the zone time and shot advantage, Lankinen was able to see pucks at ease. The guys give their three duds of the game, when the knew the game was lost, and shift their f

11/12/2024 Duración: 38minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Winans(@JacobWinans8) to the show to break down the Panthers' 2-1 shootout win over the Seattle Kraken, where it was controlled played for the Panthers for most of the contest. It took almost two full periods before the Panthers solved Joey Daccord on the night on a sweet one-timer from captain Aleksander Barkov. Seattle played tight in their own end, keeping the Cats to the perimeter and limiting second chance opportunities. Florida was able to defend the Kraken counter attack for most of the evening, but It was once again Head Coach Paul Maurice pulling the right strings that helped shift the momentum with changing up the lines just before the Panthers tied the game. The Head Coach also called a key timeout in the overtime period to help get his stars the needed rest before taking the ice again. Mackie Samoskevich continues to show growth where he started the night on the fourth line, moved his way up t

Matthew Tkachuk stays hot as he got another multi-point game (2,0) on Saturday as the Cats got a season high in 53 shots on goal, where they got more shots on goal at 5-on-5 than SJ had attempts. 06/12/2024 Duración: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday. The two break down the Panthers' 7-5 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, where the Panthers were up by as many as three goals, but the Flyers found a way to come back and even take the lead to get up by a goal a third of the way through the third period. Florida scored three times in just over a five-minute span in the latter part of the final frame to come up with the two regulation points, but it was a contest for the Panthers that the guys in the locker room should not be happy about with the amount of poor breakouts leading to the Flyers getting a good amount of rush chances on Spencer Knight. Matthew Tkachuk led the way with five points (1,4) on the evening and the team got four power play goals against the leagues third best penalty kill, but it's not a part of their game that Paul Maurice is comfortable winning games with. The guys give t

Matthew Tkachuk came alive as he had a four-point game and got to the 600-point mark for his career. Florida had six different goal scorers in each game and used the third period in both to break the games open. The last three games for Florida against division leaders have have put the Panthers back on track as a message that they're still the team that they have to get through in the Eastern Conference. Matthew Tkachuk, although he had one shot in the two games, truly set the tone from an emotional standpoint where the Canes lost their composure on a few occasions. There were quite a few special teams swings, especially in game two where they scored moments after killing off a penalty, and used their toughness to even out calls. We discuss the Panthers December where this weekend starts a set of games against non-playoff teams, and how the Panthers will play t

28/11/2024 Duración: 37minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Florida Panthers Historian Francisco Oporta(@fjojr and @FLACatsHistory) to break down the Panthers 5-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, where it was domination from the start, and it manifested into two power play goals, a short handed goal, and an empty netter as the Cats put an end to their four-game losing streak and are now one point behind the Leafs with Toronto having a game in hand. It was the return of Anthony Stolarz, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Steven Lorentz and they received their championship rings on Wednesday morning, and were honored in the middle of the game, but it was spoiled not even midway through the first period as the Panthers got two goals 50 seconds apart in the first and never let up from there. Panthers Inability to Create Proved Costly As Losing Streak Reaches Four Games, Capitals Win 4-1
26/11/2024 Duración: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Langsam(@PTPJacob) of the Panther Pourri Podcast to break down the Panthers' 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals where the Cats got out to a 1-0 lead 7:00 into the game, but were unable to add on to the scoring. The Capitals were able to prevent the Panthers to cleanly break out of their own end, and gave the Panthers little time and space in the offensive zone. One theme was consistent throughout the evening, missing the net, where with the team being on the skid they're on it now seems as if they're over thinking their shot decisions once they get the puck in their opponents' zone. Spencer Knight got the start and also gave the team a chance to win where it was 2-1 before the Caps scored two empty netters. The game went into the third period with the game tied at one before Washington scored on a 5-on-3 power play, and they went on to play their shutdown defense for the rest of the period where the puck
