Florida set the tone early with getting on the board in the first few minutes of the game, thanks to the Panthers' third line getting the pucks deep and shooting through traffic on future Hall of Famer Marc-Andre Fleury. Mackie Samoskevich got on the scoresheet after the Wild failed to connected on a stretch pass, the Cats countered and Samoskevich picked the corner for his sixth of the season. The Panthers set the tone early with their special teams getting two goals in the first period, including Jesper Boqvist's first short-handed goal of his career. Now the Panthers have eight on the season. Florida had a bit of adversity in the second giving up three goals in 3:04, which two of the goals against were a bit head scratching. It took almost two full periods before the Panthers solved Joey Daccord on the night on a sweet one-timer from captain Aleksander Barkov. Seattle played tight in their own end, keeping the Cats to the perimeter and limiting second chance opportunities. The two break down the Panthers' 7-5 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, where the Panthers were up by as many as three goals, but the Flyers found a way to come back and even take the lead to get up by a goal a third of the way through the third period. Florida scored three times in just over a five-minute span in the latter part of the final frame to come up with the two regulation points, but it was a contest for the Panthers that the guys in the locker room should not be happy about with the amount of poor breakouts leading to the Flyers getting a good amount of rush chances on Spencer Knight. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Langsam(@PTPJacob) of the Panther Pourri Podcast to break down the Panthers' 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals where the Cats got out to a 1-0 lead 7:00 into the game, but were unable to add on to the scoring. The Capitals were able to prevent the Panthers to cleanly break out of their own end, and gave the Panthers little time and space in the offensive zone. One theme was consistent throughout the evening, missing the net, where with the team being on the skid they're on it now seems as if they're over thinking their shot decisions once they get the puck in their opponents' zone. Spencer Knight got the start and also gave the team a chance to win where it was 2-1 before the Caps scored two empty netters.
