  • Conversation Street Episode 279

    04/11/2017 Duración: 02h59min

On our latest podcast, we discuss the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 30th October and the 3rd November. Though it didn't really feature on Corrie, this week was Halloween, and Seb's certainly in for a fright when he hears he's got HIV. Meanwhile, the Wicked Windass Witch of Weatherfield gets arrested when the police find the earring that Pat planted at the solicitors' office, and David - who we think may be slowly transforming into a werewolf from the chin outwards - starts to get suspicious when he sees Gary and Nicola together. After Street Talk, we've got a bit of a different feature discussion to mark Halloween, as we do our best to make tenuous links between Coronation Street and the Harry Potter series. Which houses would the Corrie kids be sorted into? Who'd teach each subject? What are the most terrible punny names Michael can think of for alternative book titles? If you're a Harry Potter fan, you'll hopefully have a bit of a giggle in this segment and if not..well, if you s

  • Conversation Street Episode 278

    28/10/2017 Duración: 02h31min

This week on the show, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 23rd and the 27th October. First up, of course, are the heart-stopping events of Friday's Corrie, which not only revealed some shocking details about Phelan's murky past, but also saw the deaths of not one, but two characters. And if this wasn't enough to get your pulse racing, we also had Abi nearly die of a drugs overdose, and Seb take a tumble off his window cleaning ladder. Never a dull moment, eh? Well okay, we did have the saga of Alya's chicken goujons, we suppose.. After Street Talk, there's a forty-minute feature discussion about Corrie's history with gun crime, followed by a quick visit to The Kabin where there are congratulations in orderfor Bhavna Limbachia. We round off the show with a short feedback segment, and a miniround up of this week's discussions in our new Facebook group.

  • Conversation Street Episode 277

    21/10/2017 Duración: 02h31min

In this weekend's podcast, we talk about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 16th and the 20th October. The Phelan story has been building up to the revelation of his next hostage for a whie now, and this week, we finally find out... oh no, wait, we STILL don't know for sure who it's going to be yet. Come on Corrie - we're usually pretty patient when it comes to Phelan, but even we think this is starting to drag a bit now! At least things should start hotting up next week, it seems. Elsewhere, Coronation Street shows itself to be uncharacteristically up to date with its 'real life issue' story of the month as Summer gets a bit of Spice in her life, and the return of Mad Mary understandably drives Angie up the wall at number 3. The Kabin has us catching up with some past cast members and finding up what they're up to next - namely Keith Duffy, Tracy Shaw and Hayley Tamaddon, then we finish things off with a feedback section that includes two voicemails, a critical look at the Eva revenge sto

  • Conversation Street Episode 276

    14/10/2017 Duración: 02h45min

On our latest podcast, we tear down the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 9th and the 13th October. This week, Imogen's hit by a severe case of personality change-itis, leading Kate to give her the old heave-ho. Will Rana finally admit her true feelings for the damsel in dungarees? Meanwhile, there's a surprise in store for Vinny when he gives his mum a birthday video call, and Max and Lily learn the truth about Shona's link to Clayton. Next up, we do a classic character profile on Martin Platt, then chat about the upcoming Sally Ann Matthews and Brooke Vincent short film, Chapter 1: Liv in the Kabin. Finally, we round things off with another iTunes review, some emails and a voice mail in the feeback section.

  • Conversation Street Episode 275

    07/10/2017 Duración: 02h52min

On the latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 2nd and the 6th October. There was a lot to live up to this week, what with Bethany's trial and Rita's operation taking centre stage, and in our opinion, they certainly delivered. Lara's death was a surprise curveball, Norris showed his sensitive side, and all traces of bridezilla were gone from Jenny as we were left on the edge of our seats to find out if the Weatherfield Nightingale would live to sing another day. Meanwhile, though our opinion was split over the inclusion of Daniel in the Phelan saga, it was good to see the story take a new turn. After Street Talk we have a listener question segmnent, where we give our thoughts on Corrie's Canadian popularity and the use of unrealisic twists in the show, plus we share the story of how Conversation Street first came into existence. That's followed by a bit of religious controversy in the Kabin and finally some listener feedback - including a voicemail message from Eri

  • Conversation Street Episode 274

    30/09/2017 Duración: 02h21min

To begin Episode 274, we pay tribute to Liz Dawn, who sadly passed away on Monday night. After looking back over Liz's long and colourful life, we share some of our favourite Jack and Vera moments before playing a selection of sound clips from her most memobable scenes. This is followed by Street Talk, in which we discuss the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 25th and 29th September. In the run up to Nathan's trial next week, a face from the past appears on Wednesday, which threatens to make or break the case. Also this week, there's a welcome return to the Rovers for Liz, Will finally gets his comeuppance, and the truth about Gary's assignment in the Ukraine comes out. In The Kabin segment, we discuss Shayne Ward's involvement in the latest Loose Women campaign, and finish things off wth a Tina-riffic feedback section.

  • Conversation Street Episode 273

    23/09/2017 Duración: 02h57min

The latest episode of the podcast covers the big week of drama on the Street between the 18th and the 22nd September. There'd certainly been a lot of hype before this week started, what with Corrie switching from five to six episodes and the promise of one of the show's biggest ever weddings, but who exactly made it down the aisle, and which bride's day turned out to be a bit of a damp squib? Needless to say, we were pretty darn happy with how things unfolded, although we were left a little unsure about whose side we were supposed to be on when the Eva and Aidan drama came to a head. In addition to the double (treble?) wedding ceremonies, we were also treated to the arrival of Jim Moir's character, Colin this week. His portrayal of the charismatic competition organiser was a winner in our book, but what's his game with buying The Kabin? Also this week, Rita gets a shock diagnosis, Kirk generates buzz from his mayoral campaign speech, and there's more glasses action from Will. After Street Talk, we're thrilled

  • Conversation Street Episode 272

    16/09/2017 Duración: 03h05min

On the latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 10th and the 15th September. Another excellent week on the cobbles this week, with Andy's near escape proving to be a particular highlight for us. Looking around online, though, it seems like there are a lot of viewers who this didn't go down well with, so we do our best to justify our love of this (admittedly somewhat far-fetched) story! Then, of course, we have all the build up to the big double wedding next week. Eva's back and ramping up the revenge on the Connors, and there's tragedy for Rita as she collapses during the hen do. Also this week, we learn about Seb's home life, and Yasmeen becomes so desperate for a bit more screen time that she takes a leaf out of Phelan's book and becomes a hostage taker. After Street Talk, we do a quick character profile of Erica - it's about time we got round to it! - then find out what Kate Oates has got to say about the new set expansion in the news section. Finally, we received so

  • Conversation Street Episode 271

    09/09/2017 Duración: 03h22min

On our latest podcast, we cast our critical eyes over the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 3rd and the 8th September. This week started off very strong, with a Sunday episode that managed to pack in some high drama with Phelan nearly offing Andy, comedy with Sally's mayoral ambitions, and an enjoyable little side story with Amy and Summer. Not only that, but the Rita storyline kept us gripped all week thanks to a fab performance by Barbara Knox, and even the bits with Seb and Faye managed to create a bit of intrigue thanks to his mysterious injury. Top stuff! After Street Talk, we're thrilled to be joined by Hayley Tamaddon for a chat about all things Andrea, who we were big fans of during her two years on Corrie. That's followed by the Kabin, where we share our reaction to the sixth weekly episode being on a Wednesday. Listener feedback coming from as far away from Hong Kong finishes off the Corrie part of the episode, then, as promised, we round things off with some off-topic discussion of the

  • Conversation Street Episode 270

    01/09/2017 Duración: 02h43min

We had a late podcast last week - how about an early one this time? We only had three episodes of Corrie to chat about on the latest podcast, covering the 28th to the 30th August, and things are certainly looking bad for Rita, as her condition deteriorates - something that has not gone unnoticed by Gemma. As for Jenny, though... well let's just say she's got more than enough troubles of her own with the wedding looming! Meanwhile, Sally sets her sights on becoming the Mayor of Weatherfield, and Andy's in a grave situation... After Street Talk, our extended 5th anniversary month continues into September, and we're joined by the lovely Georgia Taylor! That's right - an interview with someone whose character we certainly haven't always been the most potive about in recent months, and yes, she does call us out on that during our chat! We really think you're going to love how this interview turns out, and can't wait for you to hear it. There are a few minor news stories to cover in The Kabin later, but you'll have

  • Conversation Street Episode 269

    27/08/2017 Duración: 02h39min

On the latest podcast, we discuss the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 21st and the 25th August. We've been off on a short break to France this week, but did that stop us watching our favourite soap? Did it 'eck as like! We were far too excited to see what Phelan had in store for Andy, and were on the edge of our seats on Monday's episodes when the pair of them had that scuffle in the basement. Another big talking point, of course, was the matter of Norris and Mary's wedding! We were kept guessing right until the last minute about whether or not they'd actually go through with the ceremony, but what did we make of what actually happened, and what could be in store for the couple next? Also this week, Chesney does a disappearing act on a trip out with the girls, and things move forward for David and Shona. In The Kabin, we make our choices in this year's Inside Soap Awards, then  follow up with more of yor listener feedback. We round off the episode with a spoilerific Kabin Extra, in w

  • Conversation Street Episode 268

    19/08/2017 Duración: 03h24min

This week on the podcast is quite a special one! Episode 268 marks Conversation Street's fifth anniversary, and what a show it is! In Street Talk, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast between the 11th and the 18th August - seven episodes in total, and we try a new format for the segment. We think it works quite well, but we'd love to know your feedback too. The big talking point of the week is, of course, the reveal that Pat has indeed been keeping Andy hostage all this time - what a twist! Yes, we may have predicted it, but we were so excited to be proven right, and can't wait to see what happens next. Also in the segment we ponder whether Jenny is right to be fewmin' over her now double wedding, give our first thoughts on the newly recast Hope, and discuss whether Gary made the correct decision to keep Sarah in the dark over his Odessan odyssey. Next up, Michael tells all about his trip to Manchester this week - yes, Gemma was able to persuade him to go, and what a good job she did too! Who cares

  • Conversation Street Episode 267

    11/08/2017 Duración: 01h48min

We're away for a couple of days this weekend, so this podcast comes to you a bit earlier this week, just covering the episodes of Corrie between the 7th and the 9th August. So, the mystery Michelle's stalker has finally been revealed, and we can't say we're that surprised. We're not really fans of Will, and this story still isn't really gripping us, sadly. Fortunately, the Steve and Leanne stuff is still gold, and the thought of Rosie working for Adam and Todd is ripe with comedy potential. The question is, will anyoe actually remember Rosie's actually had PA experience at the factory? After Street Talk, we've got another cast interview for you to enjoy - this week with Jennie McAlpine! We chat with her for half an hour about everything Fiz - if you enjoyed last week's interview with Brooke, you're going to love this! Speaking of Brooke, it turns out that talking to us wasn't even the most exciting thing to happen to her last Friday - she also managed to get herself stuck in a lift! That's the lead story in T

  • Conversation Street Episode 266

    05/08/2017 Duración: 02h26min

Our 266th show covers the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 31st July and the 4th August. This month, Conversation Street celebrates its fifth anniversary, and if Michael and Gemma can have birthday months, why can't the podcast? With that in mind, we've got (maybe!) a whole month of special features lined up for you in August, starting off with an interview with Brooke Vincent, aka Sophie Webster! Brooke kindly spoke to us for 15 minutes today about romance, religion and Rosie's recent return, and we couldn't be happier with how it went! Before you get to that, though, there's an hour and a half of Street Talk to get through - no, we're not quite sure why it went on for so long this week! Was it the speculation about Phelan's secret confession? The incredulity that we both absolutely LOVED Leanne on Friday's episodes? Or just the numerous jokes cracked at Michelle's expense basically revolving around the fact that whoever's kidnapped her deserves to be bought a beer? Later on in the episode

  • Conversation Street Episode 265

    29/07/2017 Duración: 02h35min

On Episode 265 of the podcast, we chat about everything Corrie between the 24th and the 28th July. This week, the most prominent characters were Toyah, Leanne and Michelle... no prizes for guessing that it wasn't our favourite set of episodes, that's for sure. Hey, at least we still had a bit of Billy and Todd stuff, and playing a game of 'Is Summer's granddad actually going to speak?' kept us entertained for a while on Wednesday. Ho-hum, you can't win 'em all.. Now, where can we sign up to join the 'Let's terrorise Michelle' brigade?  We quite fancy ourselves in one of those ninja outfits... After Street Talk, we take a look back at the original Corrie landlord Jack Walker in a classic character profile, followed by a review of The Addams Family musical, starring ex-Corrie ice cream man Les Dennis. We finish things off with a bumper feedback session and, unlike last week, some actual theme music!

  • Conversation Street Episode 264

    22/07/2017 Duración: 02h53min

Our latest podcast covers the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 17th and the 21st July. It's the end of an era on the Street this week - we may not want to admit it, but the Rovers is now firmly in the hands of Peter and Toyah. It does seem, though, that Liz is starting to regret her decision to sell up, so who knows..? Also at an end this week is Neil's reign of terror, after Craig gets the evidence he needs to get his mentor arrested. With no epic climax to one of the biggest storylines of the year, however, we still reckon there could be a bit more to come. Meanwhile, Eva and Adam strike up a deal, and Brian has a rubbish storyline. Next up, although we didn't get to see any of Norris and Mary this week, they were still the inspiration for our middle section: a Corrie-themed Mr and Mrs quiz! We've been married nearly seven years now, but just how well do we know each other's Corrie favourites? After the victor is declared, we move into The Kabin to debunk the latest press rumours about Cat

  • Conversation Street Episode 263

    15/07/2017 Duración: 01h59min

On our latest podcast, we run through the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 10th and the 14th July. We may all be in denial about it, but it's the end of an era this week as Liz and Steve sign the Rovers over to new owners Peter and Toyah. Kate Oates had better have some good stories up her sleeves for this one otherwise we're starting a protest group to get the McDonalds back behind the bar where they belong! Also on Corrie this week, Neil starts to lose his cool after Bethany finally reveals the truth to Craig about his involvement in Nathan's sex ring, and Erica books a hotel room for a night of saucy fun with Kevin - will he give into temptation? After Street Talk, we do a quick character profile of Aidan Connor, before sharing our thoughts about the rumours of Joanna Lumley wanting a return to the cobbles in The Kabin. We then round things off with some more listener feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 262

    08/07/2017 Duración: 02h04min

This week on the podcast, we talk about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 3rd and the 7th July. Not the most thrilling set of episodes this week (sorry Chesney, even your stabbing wasn't enough to get us that excited), but we nevertheless enjoyed the start of Eva's revenge campaign against Aidan. Meanwhile, Jenny invites Singh for his supper, and Adam and Todd's first client at their new law firm is a 12-year-old girl... Perhaps not the kind of market they were going for, but it's a start, right? In The Kabin, we clear things up about the whole Katie McGlynn pregnancy brouhaha, then finish things off with a bunch of birthday month feedback.

  • Conversation Street Episode 261

    01/07/2017 Duración: 02h41min

In our latest podcast, we chat about Corrie between the 26th and the 30th June. Just a four-episode week this week, dominated by a few key stories with a couple of extra bits thrown in for good measure. In one of Corrie's worst kept secrets, Pat turns paternal this week, when he reveals to Nicola she's actually his long-lost daughter. Yes, it's all a bit soapy, but we still loved hearing about Phelan's upbringing in Liverpool, and if it means more Connor McIntyre on our screens, you won't hear us complaining! Also this week, Eva finally finds out about Aidan and Maria's affair, and we can't wait to see the return of her vengeful side when she starts to get her own back next week! After Street Talk, we take a look back at 2016 so far, now that we've reached the midway point. From Bashed Barlows to Battersbaby Bombshells, it's been a cracking six months - let's hope they keep up the good stuff in the second half of the year! In the Kabin, we take a look at the TV Choice Award nominations that were revealed this

  • Conversation Street Episode 260

    24/06/2017 Duración: 02h32min

Episode 260 of Conversation Street takes a look at everything Corrie between the 19th and the 23rd June. Nathan tries to smuggle Bethany away to Belgium on Monday, and we don't think it's for the chocolate. Will she come to her senses in time? Meanwhile, it's all about secret hook-ups elsewhere on the Street: Seb and Faye have a post-prision 'reunion' but get caught out with the classic soap 'leave incriminating evidence at the top of the bin' mistake; Cathy gets locked in the bathroom during a date with Brian; and Aidan and Maria take advantage of Eva going off to France to get in some sexy time - what could possibly go wrong? Following the recent sad news of Roy Barraclough's death, we take a look at Alec Gilroy in a classic character profile next, before celebrating Sam Aston's recent engagement in The Kabin. Finally, we end things as usual with a selection of tweets and emails in the feedback section.
