During our series "Galatians: Live Free," we will take another look at each week's chapter. This week, Redemption Senior Minister Darrel Land brings a devotional thought from Galatians 2.

The New Testament letter from Paul to the people of Galatia is a reminder to Jesus' followers to fully embrace the message, mercy, and grace of Jesus and accept his fulfillment of the law. This gospel ("good news") justifies people through faith and empowers believers to find a new way to be human — people who can live free.

The next generation (kids and students) are not just the future of the church — they are also the church right now. How and what can the rest of us learn from the next generation? How can we empower them to be disciples of Jesus in their cultures today? From July 30 to Aug. 13, we will focus on this next generation in the sermon series Start The Wave. This will be a unique three-week series with Redemption's annual Next Gen. There’s 150 of these Psalms, written by a handful of different people, all talking to God from all different ranges of emotions. Much like the playlists we create to convey various moods via our favorite music, some are angry, some are afraid, some are sad and depressed, and some are celebratory—but they teach us to worship God through all of it.
