It's the first show of the second half of the Seahawks offseason, just past the Seahawkquinox, and there were a lot of strange things to happen at the apex of the offseason. First, we discuss the rumor that apparently was being thrown around two years ago, but was apparently only worth reporting now that Russell Wilson is being considered as the second-most untradeable player in the offseason. We go back to the initial audio that sparked the flurry of stories as Chris Simms seemed to downplay a rumor he didn't believe was worth following up on at the time. Another story that we don't have a clear picture of is what happened leading up to the arrest warrant being issued for the new Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar. The story from the initial report was that Dunbar was involved in a robbery, but not long after the reports had changed and stories from witnesses had evolved to Dunbar having left the scene before the robbery took place. The Seattle Seahawks went into the draft with a need to improve the pass rush and came away with two defensive ends. Can Darrell Taylor and Alton Robinson help make up the difference with Jadeveon Clowney looking like he may not return to the team? They gave up their 3rd round compensatory pick to make the move, but were able to add a mid-fourth round pick by trading back from the final pick of the second round. In the third round, at pick 69, Seattle went with another SEC player in the trenches. The Seattle Seahawks stayed put on the first day of the draft and selected Texas Tech linebacker Jordyn Brooks. Rob Staton of Seahawks Draft Blog comes back on the show to react to the pick. With so many needs on the team, it's difficult for fans to accept that the Seahawks have now used their top draft asset as the biggest needs for the team remain the biggest needs.

The Seahawks made a couple moves in the last week of free agency and freeing up some salary cap space with the release of Ed Dickson and the announcement that Tedric Thompson would be released soon. For the two months since the conclusion of the Seahawks season, every position group has now been dissected to the point that a person could be convinced that every area of the team has room to find improvement. Ahead of free agency next week, Adam and Brandan direct the focus toward what the Seahawks really need to find in free agency and away from the positions that could be considered as luxury moves. But if Seattle is going to have a championship offseason, their financial focus truly needs to be on positions of need. This week the rumor is that the Seattle Seahawks may be looking to trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for their top defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. This could signal a few different things with regard to Jadeveon Clowney. The first big news of the offseason hit on Tuesday this week as the Seahawks announced that they had agreed to terms with former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen. While Seattle was in the market for a tight end this offseason considering the problems they had with depth at the position, is paying a 35-year-old the best approach. Brandan and Adam discuss the pros and cons of the situation and why the team could have felt that this was the best move to make. In the division, we saw what average tackles are going to start making as D.J. Humphries was re-signed by the Arizona Cardinals. That means that Germaine Ifedi is likely to move on. Could George Fant take Ifedi's spot or is Fant set on heading out of town so he can play at the left tackle spot? In what is becoming an overused narrative, the Seahawks did not try and force the run in the divisional round loss to the Green Bay Packers. As frustrating as it was to see once again the Seahawks trying to overcome a big first half deficit, the defenses inability to quickly adjust to the Packers plan to carve the defense with throws to Davante Adams. Even when Flowers tried to stay over the top of Adams in the second half, the receiver made the defense look foolish. Seattle was able to mount a comeback in the second half, but Russell Wilson was under duress for a majority of the game. Adam explains why we saw Pete Carroll and the Seahawks reluctant to "let Russ cook," because he could not survive an entire season taking the kind of hits that he did against the Packers defense. The Seahawks advance into the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs after their 17-9 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Instead of boosting their takeaway numbers, this time around they boost their sack numbers. While the numbers may say that Russell Wilson stayed clean in the pocket, it felt a lot different while watching the game. Ultimately, it was Russell Wilson leading the way for the Seahawks, both on the ground and through the air, and his biggest target downfield was rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf.  While the overall numbers weren't impressive on the ground, Marshawn Lynch had three moments that stood out. Two of those moments involved Lynch driving defensive backs to the ground after catching a pass, and the other was a vintage Beast Mode run to get into the end zone. The regular season is over, and playoff football starts this weekend. Though a different outcome of the 26-21 loss to the 49ers wouldn't have changed the fact that the Seahawks would be playing on the first weekend, it does change the venue. About one inch could have made a huge difference. Not just for the Seahawks, but for the entire NFC playoff picture.
