279: The Beast is Alive and Well
26/12/2019 Duración: 01h21minFor the 12 hours following the loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the emotions of Seahawks fans may have sunk to a season low. After the loss of Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise to injury in the matter of a few plays, Seattle fans were collectively asking the question if Marshawn Lynch was well enough to suit back up one more time in the blue and green. As things turned out, a return had already been in the works prior to Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Will the emotion of the move be enough to help motivate the Seahawks toward victory on Sunday? There is a lot for the Seahawks to overcome as Duane Brown is likely don’t for the season and both Mike Iupati and Joey Hunt are hurt. Can an offensive line that allowed a huge day for Chandler Jones rebound against Nick Bosa and the other four first round picks on the stacked 49ers defensive line? On the other side of the ball, can Jadeveon Clowney return and have a similar performance to his game against the 49ers in Week 10? If Seattle is going to get to the quarte

278: Seahawks versus the Arizona David Larry Johnson Fitzgeralds
21/12/2019 Duración: 45minWith midweek news of the Josh Gordon and Al Woods suspensions, it takes us away from just how great this week started out following Sunday's game with the Carolina Panthers. The Seahawks moved to 7-1 on the road, Pete Carroll won his 100th regular season game, Seattle took the top spot in the NFC away from the 49ers. Plus, they were able to get the win with having so many key injuries on defense. The Gordon suspended indefinitely and Woods out for four games, Brandan and Adam talk about which one will impact the team more moving forward. Seattle has a chance to finish the season at home now against the Cardinals at 49ers. Arizona has been a team with a history of winning late in the season at CenturyLink and Kyler Murray has improved as a passer since earlier this season. However, this game is relatively inconsequential in terms of winning the NFC West, so Seattle can afford to rest some key players in advance of the Week 17 game against the San Francisco 49ers. In other news, the Cardinals do have one of the

277: The Decaf Metcalf Show
12/12/2019 Duración: 01h20minTurning the corner from Sunday's 28-12 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, @Seahawkscrazy on Twitter helps out by taking the blame for the loss this past week. Shaquille Griffin mentioned after the game that the Seahawks needed to be taken down from their high horse they'd been riding on. Considering Seattle was coming off wins over the 49ers, a tough Eagles defense and a Monday night win over the Vikings, maybe they were due for the first road loss of the season. But did it have to come against the Rams when there is a game against the Panthers that could have served the same purpose? Despite their 5-8 record, there is a lot of talent on the Carolina Panthers team considering Christian McCaffery was being talked about as an MVP candidate earlier on this season. Quarterback Kyle Allen has come back to Earth after a show he put on earlier this season. The Panthers have a couple future Hall of Fame players on their defense, but have one of the league's worst teams against the run and that should allow Seattle to help

276: Seahawks vs Rams quick reaction - Sleeping and jet sweeping
09/12/2019 Duración: 25minAfter debating the question all week about whether Seahawks fans should cheer for a 49ers loss or a Saints loss, we are left with what might have been the least desirable outcome - a loss for the Seahawks. Seattle lost to the Rams 28-12 in a way that we haven't seen from a Seahawks team in recent memory. A game where they didn't look like they came to play at any point in this game. After giving up 21 first half points, the defense was able to get two turnovers early in the 3rd quarter, but the offense wasn't able to move the ball. A big reason for that is how they were dominated in the trenches, and when Russell Wilson had time to throw the ball there were dropped passes, penalties and other annoyances that kept the offense from moving the ball. The good news is that the Seahawks still control their destiny and maybe this can be a wakeup call going into the next two weeks ahead of the Week 17 matchup with the Niners. 275: The Seahawks move into first place in the NFC West after win vs Vikings, 49ers loss to Ravens
05/12/2019 Duración: 01h40minFor just the 12th time in franchise history, the Seattle Seahawks have now won 10 or more games. Russell Wilson has helped to make that happen as he has been the quarterback for 7 of those 12 double digit winning seasons. The latest 10 win season comes after a 37-30 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Although the Seahawks were down at halftime, it was clear the defense had Cousins, Cook and Diggs bottled up in the first half outside of the first and last drives of the first half. A huge third quarter propelled Seattle to a three-score lead in the fourth quarter, but as we've learned to expect, no lead is ever safe. Looking ahead to the Sunday Night Football game against the Rams, Seattle will look to continue their 3-0 prime time streak, Carroll's streak of undefeated games in prime time in December, and Pete's next win has a chance to be his 100th victory on a field that helped propel him back into the NFL as the coach for the Seahawks. To get the win the Seahawks will have to find a way to keep Aaron Dona

274: Dalvin Cook gives the Vikings a style the Ravens, Saints had in their wins over the Seahawks
30/11/2019 Duración: 01h15minThe Seahawks move to 9-2 on the season after this past Sunday's victory over the Philadelphia Eagles which puts them at 6-0 on the road. It matches their best mark in franchise history and they did it without the help of Jadeveon Clowney. We talk about the last time a core injury came up with a star player and how it impacted the Seahawks in the playoffs during the 2015 season. Even without Clowney, Seattle's pass rush was able to frustrate Carson Wentz who was dealing with a diminished offensive line and receiving corps. Rasheem Green had one of his best days as a member of the Seahawks and was instrumental in Al Woods getting a stat in the football deflation column. Rashaad Penny helped put the game away with a 58-yard run, but that didn't help to make Adam any less frustrated with the play from the running backs this past week. Looking ahead to the Monday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle faces a team in a similar mold of the last two football teams. The difference is that the Viki

273: Playing with 'juice' vs playing with Carson Wentz, previewing Seahawks vs Eagles
22/11/2019 Duración: 01h05minIt's been two years since the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl and many of us still have the feeling that they're a good team. The team continues to have a stacked roster. But then you look at the record of the Eagles and some of their losses as they sit at 5-5 on the season and you can't help but wonder what the issue is. How could a team that beat the 8-2 Packers lose to a Falcons team that only won a single game going into their bye week? The answer: juice. It's something we see from the Seahawks in how they play for one another and it's something that you don't get a sense of when watching the Eagles in those down weeks. We talk about how Philadelphia could be working through some of the same issues as the Seahawks faced after their Super Bowl, but it was a decision at the quarterback spot that could have impacted the team. So how does one predict what could happen in a game against a team that has the ability to be very good or very bad. Brandan calls out Google in the Do Better segment and Adam ha

272: Three is the overtime charm for the Seahawks, the return of Pete Prisco
16/11/2019 Duración: 01h50minThe Seahawks go into overtime for a second straight week and it didn't have to be that way. The Seahawks offense had a chance to draw the game down to a final field goal in regulation, and that was after multiple plays went the 49ers way that kept the game from being a Seattle landslide. Once again, it was a slow start on offense for Seattle as they didn't score on offense until the second half and needed a short field to do it on multiple occasions. The 49ers defense showed up, but so did the Seahawks and Jadeveon Clowney. Adam is back from his long road trip and in his usual studio and saw a series of play calling that he enjoyed much more than what he saw against the Tampa Bay Bucs. We try and get to all of the biggest moments of the game, from huge plays by the 49ers to strip DK Metcalf, the interceptions or missed interceptions that could have sealed the game, and Russell Wilson who made the play in the end to set up Jason Myers for the game-winning score. Following the game, Pete Prisco gave us some mat

271: Sit back and continue to enjoy the Russell Wilson show
09/11/2019 Duración: 01h23minThere were some things to like in last Sunday's victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as Russell Wilson notched is fourth "stat" of this season. He's never had more than four during the regular season in his career, so with the Seahawks going into a really touch stretch in their final seven weeks of the schedule, the expectation is that he should be able to reach his personal best. There were also some things not to like about the last game. Jason Myers missed three kicks, the defense had a hard time stopping a quarterback who may be in his last year with the team, and Adam took issue with how the game was called in certain situations. Two guys you can't be mad at after this game were Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. In the win, Metcalf had the fourth best game of any Seahawks rookie receiver, behind only Brian Blades, Doug Baldwin and Steve Largent. There's still a chance for him to improve his position and continue to lead all NFL rookie receivers. Looking ahead to the matchup with the 49ers, Russell Wilson i

270: The Seahawks defense has a YAC problem, but Coach Carroll prefers other base defense stats
01/11/2019 Duración: 01h10minThis week we're talking Seahawks football as Adam dials in during his drive across Nebraska to discuss the Seahawks 27-20 win over the Falcons. But even in victory, there were questions that came up about how far the Seattle defense can carry this team as it's currently operating. Coach Carroll, in his weekly press conference, talked about how the team his ranking high on stopping opponents on third down. Seattle is also among the top teams in the league when it comes to holding teams to field goals or no points inside the red zone. However, one of the stats that jumps off the page is the number of yards after the catch (YAC) the Seahawks are giving up and which players the opposing pass catchers appear to be targeting most. So does this test the mantra the show has stuck with consistently that yards don't matter? Thanks to Ron Evans from the How Bizarre podcast for helping support our reminder with a show jingle. We also look ahead to the Sunday matchup with the Bucs and if quarterback Jameis Winston will co

269: Seahawks trade for safety help, Russell can build on his bounce-back win stat vs Falcons
24/10/2019 Duración: 01h25minWith the NFL Trade deadline still a few days away, the Seahawks have made a trade with the Detroit Lions to bring in Quandre Diggs to help with the struggling safety group. Adam and Brandan evaluate the trade as well as how the roster is currently constructed on defense. Detroit Lions fans appear to be upset about the trade and they've found one of the better online reactions to play on the show. Looking back to the Ravens game, Adam points out the turning point where things really started to go downhill for the Seahawks and the moment wasn't the Russell Wilson interception (which may have taken Russ out of the MVP discussion now that he's no longer perfect on the season). One thing Wilson is - one of the best at coming back and getting a win the week after taking a loss. But it's possible, based on what we've seen from the team previously, is that this could be another frustrating victory. In the second half of the show, we welcome some new members of the flock, read some email that came in from the past wee

268: Russell Wilson has Tom Brady in his sights, Earl Thomas returns, and Prisco's World's collide
17/10/2019 Duración: 01h27minAfter another outstanding performance by Russell Wilson on Sunday, we take some time kicking off this week's episode with a look at some of the milestones that Russ has reached so far and one on the horizon that Tom Brady has held for about 10 years. We also look at one of the position groups that is playing at a high level that maybe didn't have the highest expectations coming into the 2019 season. And looking back at the Browns game, we highlight two of the top plays that should make the year-end highlight reel. Since it seems as though everyone wants to point fingers at the officials, we find a list from a Browns fan who details his biggest officiating complaints and we go down the list on the ones we agree and disagree with. Moving beyond that we look ahead to the Sunday matchup with the Baltimore Ravens and discuss Earl Thomas and the move we probably won't see from Pete Carroll when he sees ET3 back at CenturyLink for the first time. This episode may mark the final time that we visit Prisco's World, bec

267: Seahawks vs. Browns - Ride or die. Ride or die.
14/10/2019 Duración: 38minThrough six weeks of the season, the Seahawks are now 5-1 and have as many wins as the San Francisco 49ers who are leading the division after their win on Sunday over the Rams. But is it starting to feel like Russell Wilson and Chris Carson are Brian and Dom from Fast and Furious? If these are the two guys we're going to ride or die with this season, we're happy to be on board, but at some point it would be nice to see some pressure from the defensive line. Is that something we'll be able to see with the return of Jarran Reed? The defense was making plays in terms of turnovers in this game. The Seahawks defense needed three interceptions, one forced fumble and a goal line stand to hold the Browns to 28 points. On top of that they needed Wilson and Carson to be the dominant duo we've come to expect this season. Russell adds two more touchdowns through the air, while he and Carson share their pair of rushing TDs. Looking over at the Rams loss to the 49ers. We take a peek at San Francisco's schedule over their f

266: Russell Wilson emerges as MVP candidate, win at Cleveland would match Seahawks best road start
10/10/2019 Duración: 01h20minNearly a week after the Seahawks game, Brandan and Adam help re-live some of the top moments from the game by pulling up the Steve Raible highlights. Will Dissly and DK Metcalf had two of the longest catches on the day, while Tyler Lockett and Tedrick Thompson competed for who had the most spectacular catch. In previewing the upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns, we take a look at the pass rushers and how the Seahawks are going from a defensive line full of players who can cause the Seahawks problems to one or two players who are disruptive on the Browns defensive line. The Browns secondary has been struggling with injury issues, but could get two of their young players back this week. On the offensive side of the ball, the Seahawks need to stop the run to have success and just how poorly has Mayfield performed while under pressure? After the break, we look at some of the history between the Seahawks and Browns and how the Seahawks could match a road record that goes all the way back to 1980 with a win

265: Clowney has his first big moment vs Arizona, Seahawks efforts in the red zone are key vs Rams
03/10/2019 Duración: 01h15minThe Seahawks finish the month of September at 3-1 with Sunday's victory over the Arizona Cardinals. They earn their first win over an NFC West rival and now they have the chance to do the same thing on a short week against the Los Angeles Rams. The guys preview the matchup against these hated rivals and Adam explains how a win here goes a long way to shifting the balance of power back toward the Seahawks in the division. Before we get to the Rams discussion, Adam discovers what he has learned about the different running styles between Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny and how Carson maintains his balance while taking big hits. Jadeveon Clowney has his first signature moment as a member of the Seahawks in the win against Arizona. Also, the Seahawks have two players among the leaders in end zone targets. However, only one of those players has multiple touchdown conversions. With the Rams coming to town, it looks like they've taken a step back from previous seasons in some respects, but can Pete Carroll finally fig

264: Every aggressive Seahawks play call backfires, yet another reminder that yards don’t matter
27/09/2019 Duración: 01h27minAs Seahawks fans are coping with the first September loss at home in the Pete Carroll era, Adam and Brandan are looking for who to blame. When the opposing team scores in every phase of the game and you need more than one hand to count some of the questionable coaching moves in the game, the answer is clear. But a majority of those coaching calls came down to playing an aggressive style of football. Except for a decision to not call timeout at the end of the first half and a decision to not go for a two-point conversion late in the game. Those calls are still a bit tough to explain. Luke Willson is back on the team for the Seahawks and says that Techno Thursday will return, but Bobby Wagner may be the wet blanket that keeps that as something of the past. Russell Wilson threw for more than 400 yards and demonstrated once again how yards don't matter. The guys preview Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals and what to expect from Arizona's offense through the first few games. In the closing segments of the show, B

263: Jalen Ramsey trade intrigue, Saints without Brees still a threat for 2-0 Seahawks
19/09/2019 Duración: 01h22minAfter a 28-26 victory on Sunday, Russell Wilson, for just the second time in his career, is taking the a 2-0 Seahawks team into Week 3 of the NFL season. On top of that, Pete Carroll and the Seahawks are 15-0 at home in September and they're coming back home to take on the New Orleans Saints. Adam and Brandan talk about the Wilson's dominant performance against the Steelers and why Seahawks fans can likely expect another close game even though the Saints will be without future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees. As part of the NFL's 100th season, the Seahawks are taking votes for the top play in the history of the team. Is the number one spot an easy decision? According to the early returns, there are two plays that are dominating the votes. Closing out the show, Adam has words for a Canadian who tried to fight a grizzly bear and Brandan joins a former Seahawks running back in his frustration over throwback jerseys. Adam honors a team of scientists who came up with an breakthrough idea for a lunar elevator.

262: DK Metcalf's record performance vs Cincinnati and how a road win is key to a Super Bowl victory
14/09/2019 Duración: 01h40sWith less than 36 hours before a Week 2 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, have Seahawks fans had enough time to cool off after a narrow victory over the Cincinnati Bengals? There were some frustrating moments in this game, but the team was able to pull out the win and the defense was able to hold their opponent to just three points in the second half. Seahawks fans can be excited that DK Metcalf lived up to the hype by breaking a record held by the greatest wide receiver in Seahawks history. The Steelers are coming off an embarrassing loss to New England, and historically that was been bad news for their opponents when they play at home the following week. What could the Seahawks have learned from that performance against the Patriots both in terms of attacking the Steelers defense and the key to slowing down Big Ben early in this game. Topics discussed include: Seahawks fans seemed frustrated by this Bengals win (0:54) DK Metcalf has record breaking first game as a Seahawks receiver (4:31) Chris Carson l

261: Seahawks trade for Jadeveon Clowney to kick off the season and no 2019 draft pick gets cut
05/09/2019 Duración: 01h31minThe 2019 NFL season has officially arrived and the Seahawks started with a huge move and building up what looked like one of their biggest weaknesses in the preseason. Jadeveon Clowney is now a member of the Seahawks and eventually Adam will learn how to pronounce his name. Brandan and Adam take a look at the surprises of the 53-man man roster and give credit to the Seahawks general manager John Schneider for making some significant moves to start the season, but also landing all of his 2019 draft picks. Not a single one was cut, although two head to the PUP list to start the season. 260: Hype around possible Jadeveon Clowney trade to the Seahawks, preseason week 3 frustrations
29/08/2019 Duración: 01h33minWith the Seahawks pass rush looking like a potential weakness for the team, this week's show focuses on the hype around a possible trade for Jadeveon Clowney and why it makes a lot of sense for the team. We talk about one of the most frustrating parts of the Sehawks 23-15 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and we spend time talking about one of the biggest surprises in recent NFL history with Andrew Luck's announcement to retire from football. Topics include: Report of Jadeveon Clowney's interest in the Dolphins, Eagles and Seahawks (2:46) Why a Jadeveon Clowney trade would work out well for the Seahawks (9:19) Reactions to the Seahawks win 23-15 over the Los Angeles Chargers (14:17) Adam makes a case for trading George Fant (18:34) The most frustrating aspect to preseason week 3 (19:13) The six WRs who will make the 53-man roster (24:18) Will Poona Ford be the Seahawks fullback?
