I do. I like that the pace suits all levels of walkers and hikers. On New Years day there will be a optional beach wander at 9am before the potluck to Pawai Bay or Kailua Bay. I love showcasing small entrepreneurs and saying nice things about Kailua Village. Winona shares some good info about what they carry ... the clothing, accessories, footwear for hiking, the beach, running, walking, great tasting snacks that do you good too. I bought my first mountain bike from Grant way back when. They still rent bikes...lots of them. It's a go to place for locals and visitors .. for me, they help recreation fun with the right equipment to fit my budget. Winona and Kona Beach & Sports will be hosting another of the very popular complimentary triathlon training day in February at Anaehoomalu Bay at Waikoloa Beach Resort. Bull Bullard, who grew up in Detroit and is a member of the Harlem Globetrotters had nice things to say about Detroit last year when he was on the Big Island of Hawaii and we had a chance to talk story. It was his foster mom in Detroit who encouraged him to play basketball to keep him out of trouble.     In August 2014 Randy Repicky, a Slow Roll squad member reached out to me. He heard I was looking for a bike to use at the Slow Roll Greektown so he brought his Detroit Bike Factory bike for me (fantastic urban bike) which I loved . We met for the first time that evening and it was so thoughtfull the way he looked after us for the evening. I was joined by Sandra McNeil from WWJ thanks to Alisa Zee and Sandra's cousin Emily Baker. We got such a warm welcome as a delightful evening unfolded and our Slow Roll ride took us through areas I rode in the 80's. Nice warm welcome from Jason Hall and Mike McKool, the founders of Slow Roll.I'm such a fan of what Slow Roll has done and is doing with a great team of supporters. Zak Akagi-Bustin, comments on having played in the 1st Asia Pacific Cup. Long time volunteers of HSJGA (Hawaii State Junior Golf Association) Mary Bea Porter King (Co-founder HSJGA), Cathy Torchiana, & Jerry King, all with professional golf backgrounds share the fun and satisfaction of being the Hawaii Captains for the Asia Pacific Junior Cup. Sayre Memorial Foundation"In the memory of one lost life, others have been saved."I decided to rerun the talk story because of the Daniel Sayre Foundation recent gifting for the purchase of two all-terrain vehicles for Hawaii County Fire Dept. for Punaluu Beach and Hapuna Beach State Park so responders have the capability to quickly carry life-saving equipment and supplies to drowning victims and spinal cord injury victims In 1997, 25-year-old Danny Sayre hiked to the back of Pololu Valley on the Big Island, near Kapaloa Falls, to visit the place he called his "cathedral." Tragically, that visit was Danny's last.His devastated parents, Frank Sayre and Laura Mallery-Sayre, could only watch helplessly, as multiple attempts to rescue their son's body from a 500-foot fall to the valley floor below, failed.
