  • Climatosis, Fossil Feuds, & Missy's Twitch (Guest: Jon Pepper)

    20/03/2024 Duración: 48min

Businessman and author Jon Pepper has written a series of books that explores the trials and tribulations of the energy industry in a highly politicized age, the newest of which, "Missy's Twitch," explores a young woman's passage from indoctrination and climate alarm induced spasms, to awareness of the lack of compelling evidence for climate alarm, and the toxic politics surrounding the issue. The book is at turns hilarious and disturbing in the picture it paints of the current state of energy and climate politics, along the way presenting some caricatures of politicians and business interests who even the casual reader should be able to identify from real life, mocking them appropriately.Get the book here: https://www.amazon.com/Missys-Twitch-Fossil-Feuds-Pepper-ebook/dp/B0CKM4VJFB

  • Climate Science Is Being Subverted By Poor Metrics and the Pursuit of Consensus (Guest: Matthew Wielicki, Ph.D.)

    05/03/2024 Duración: 43min

Dr. Matthew Wielicki has had a heck of a year, voluntarily leaving academia when he found the pursuit and promotion of knowledge was being subverted by an effort to enforce consensus on researchers. Nowhere is this more evident than in the field of climate change. He now refers to himself as "earth science professor in exile." Recently he has written about why "global average temperature," is a poor metric for climate change, and how poorly conducted, alarming climate research is being heralded by the media, and not being called out by scientists -- all in an effort to motivate climate action which will rob our children of their money, freedom, and mental health.

  • Obamacare's Olympian Premiums – "I couldn’t afford it," says Mary Lou Retton (Guest: Kansas State Sen. Beverly Gossage)

    29/02/2024 Duración: 26min

Olympian Mary Lou Retton made a stunning revelation when asked why she didn’t have health insurance while she was in intensive care fighting for her life.  “I couldn’t afford it,” Retton told the Today Show on January 8 when she was faced with a life threating pneumonia recently.  Retton’s daughter started a “Go Fund Me” page to help her mother pay for what was likely to be tens of thousands of dollars in hospital bills.  Health Care News managing editor AnneMarie Schieber talked to Kansas State Senator Beverly Gossage as to why Retton may have gone without health insurance. The likely answer is Obamacare, the only option for people without an employer health plan. Gossage discusses what Retton might have paid for an Obamacare plan without subsidies and why there are almost no other options today for middle income people.  She also discusses what Congress needs to do about it.Read more: https://heartlanddailynews.com/2024/02/i-couldnt-afford-it-olympic-champion-mary-lou-retton-on-health-insurance/PHOTO: ROBIN

    20/02/2024 Duración: 32min

A recent study by Jack McPherrin from Heartland explores how state legislatures, in adopting provisions of the Universal Commercial Code, have enabled "too big to fail" banks to seize the private retirement accounts of both individuals and institutional investors during times of crisis.

  • Will Biden Be Replaced In The 2024 Election? - In The Tank #436

    15/02/2024 Duración: 01h08min

The Heartland Institute’s Donald Kendal, Jim Lakely, Justin Haskins, and Chris Talgo present episode 436 of the In The Tank Podcast. Last week, a report by Special Counsel Robert Hur raised a lot of eyebrows. And not because it essentially let President Biden off the hook for mishandling of classified documents, but because the report described him as an "elderly man with a poor memory." The administration's response to this characterization: let's have Biden do a press conference where Biden can prove the report correct. This entire situation has spurred a lot of speculation that the Democratic Party may be angling to sideline Biden before the general election in November.PRIMARY TOPIC - WILL BIDEN BE REPLACED IN 2024 ELECTION? The Federalist - The Reasons To Impeach Biden Keep Stacking Uphttps://thefederalist.com/2024/02/12/the-reasons-to-impeach-biden-keep-stacking-up/ The Federalist - 4 Lies Joe Biden Spouted Off In Angry Special Counsel Press Conferencehttps://thefederalist.com/2024/02/09/4-lies-joe-bide

  • Did Illegal Votes Rob Trump of the 2020 Election?

    13/02/2024 Duración: 14min

The other day, Heartland Institute Editorial Director Chris Talgo was a guest on "The Absolute Truth with Emerald Robinson" on Lindell TV. Chris was invited on the program to talk about our analysis of The Heartland Institute's blockbuster poll in December which found that one in four voters who used mail-in ballots in the 2020 presidential election admitted to submitting an illegal vote -- activities like voting in a state in which you are not a permanent resident, filling out a ballot that is not your own, or signing a ballot that was not your own. Whether or not those illegal activities were done with malice or by accident, those votes should have NOT been counted in the 2020 presidential election.  As a follow-up, Chris and others at Heartland analyzed this data to see how various levels of this illegal voting activity with mail-in ballots -- again, admitted to by Americans in our survey -- would have affected the 2020 Election in the six close swing states. Out of 29 scenarios in which we continually low

  • The SEC Lacks Authority to Mandate Climate Concern (Guest: Stone Washington)

    12/02/2024 Duración: 33min

The Securities and Exchange Commission is trying to become a climate regulator. It has proposed forcing companies under its regulatory purview, and even those outside of its direct authority, to take climate change seriously. The proposals would force SEC regulated companies, and those in their supply chains, to report how climate change will effect their operations, their emissions, and how they are responding to shifts in weather.

  • Mann vs. Steyn: A Disgrace to the Profession – Climate Change Roundtable #97

    09/02/2024 Duración: 01h10min

The Climate Trial of the Century is over, and the result is an absolutely travesty of justice. A D.C. jury ruled yesterday that Mark Steyn must pay $1 in compensatory damages and an absurd $1 million in punitive damages to climate media star Michael Mann for his claimed defamation. His co-defendant, Rand Simberg, was socked with paying $1 in compensatory damages, but only $1,000 in punitive damages. We followed the trial every day for nearly four weeks, and we can tell you that it was a disgrace to the professions in our legal system, the “profession” of juries to administer justice, and the professions in alarmist climate science. In short, the whole thing was a disgrace. On episode 97 of Climate Change Roundtable, The Heartland Institute’s Anthony Watts, H. Sterling Burnett, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely break down what happened in the trial, how this criminally unjust jury decision came to be, and what this means for the First Amendment rights of anyone who questions alarmist dogma in public.
