Ep.249: Don’t Say That Word
12/04/2018 Duración: 55minIt’s time for a classic J&C episode, and I have to say, this week we are really in our element with a lot of randomness and a LOT of Mean Girls references… even for us. We discuss the latest CrossFit documentary “The Redeemed and the Dominant,” what we look for in a new gym, and how to know when it’s time to move on from your current gym or just reevaluate your relationship with CrossFit in general. We also discuss Joy’s latest impulse marathon decision (yep, she went there), and things that everyone else loves that we just don’t understand (e.g. activated charcoal everything and cold-shoulder shirts. WHY. JUST WHY.) Support the podcast! Click the SUBSCRIBE button on iTunes! Please leave us a review on iTunes!! Ep.247: Mary Shenouda The Paleo Chef
29/03/2018 Duración: 01h07minThe moment Mary Shenouda walked through the door for this interview, we knew we had met a kindred spirit. Founder of The Paleo Chef and Phat Fudge, this woman is independent, smart, and driven. We hear about her journey from being a bullied teenager with chronic migraines, to a full-time personal chef and renowned natural foods entrepreneur. We also discuss overcoming fear to pursue fulfillment, prioritizing your own self-awareness, the value of scrappiness, and why self-help books can just make your problems worse. https://phatfudge.com/ Support the podcast! Ep.246: Brianna Battles
22/03/2018 Duración: 01h52sThis week we are joined by Brianna Battles! Brianna is a mom to two young sons, and specializes in coaching pregnant and postpartum athletes. Having grown up as an athlete, she was surprised by the lack of resources and research-based information that was available to her as she tried to stay active during her first pregnancy, and then as she struggled to recover from a traumatic C-section. Brianna decided to live out the saying, “Be who you needed when you were younger,” and set out to create a coaching program to support pregnant and postpartum athletes. Now, in addition to coaching women 1:1 around the world, she provides online education courses and collaborates with women’s health professionals to ensure that all women have access to the information and resources that she herself felt were missing from her own experience. http://www.briannabattles.com/ Support the podcast!
