  • Episode 31: Better Man

    14/02/2021 Duración: 52min

In this episode, Marty and Nick deconstruction how the patriarchy impacts folks who identify as men. We also then look to our primary touchstone -- Comics -- to see how what we can glean on what it means to be "a better man."We're delving into this topic because we have spent a lot of time deconstructing toxic masculinity without building up a better replacement. Tearing down terrible constructs and institutions is good. Given folks examples of what it will take to be 'good' is better. Please like, share, and let us know on Facebook what you think of this conversation? What did we miss? How does feminist and queer theory address these concepts in a more meaningful way? What comics do a fantastic job of not just deconstruction, but reconstruction -- if reconstruction of masculinity is even the way we should go?
