    09/06/2022 Duración: 01h02min

Thursday is here which means the boys from the Real Life Podcast are back with a brand new episode to help you recover from the Oilers' Western Conference Finals loss to the Colorado Avalanche. On today’s show, the guys looked at their pop choices, yards of beer, golf suspensions, and much more.Kicking off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with a conversation about Tyler's drink choices as he rolled into the podcast studio with a fresh Mountain Dew. Somehow talking about pop led the boys to share stories about when they got pulled over or ticketed for varying reasons, and how none of them were able to get out of the ticket. Sticking with sports, the guys walked through the Liv Golf situation as the PGA announced more than a dozen suspensions for players that jumped ship for more cash. Since Baggedmilk doesn't follow the sport at all, he was very confused about the suspensions but thankfully Tyler was there to make sense of what's happening. Back to the Oilers, the guys recapped the Weste

  • Oilers fighting to stay alive and the Nation Vacation to Toronto

    06/06/2022 Duración: 01h02min

A new week is here and that means the gang from the Real Life Podcast is back with a brand new episode to help you get through what’s left of your Monday. On today’s podcast, the guys looked at the Oilers fighting for their lives against the Avalanche, what to expect from a do-or-die Game 4, and a whole lot more.To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started with a chat about Game 3 and how it was extremely disappointing that the Oilers dropped a third straight game despite playing well enough to win. Regardless of our feelings on how things went, the reality is that the Oilers are in a tough spot now and will need to be at their best if they're going to extend this series at all. One thing is for sure, there is no way that Edmonton wants to have the handshake lineup in their own building and that could lead to a very desperate hockey club. Changing gears, the guys revealed more details for the Nation Vacation to Toronto that's set to take place in August and how everyone is excited to he

  • Oilers vs Avalanche, Backpack etiquette, and John Scott

    02/06/2022 Duración: 49min

Thursday is here and that means the boys from the Real Life Podcast are back with a brand new podcast to help you get set for Game 2 which will happen down in Denver at 6 pm MT. On today’s show, the guys looked back at Game 1, what to expect in the rematch, and a whole lot more.Kicking off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with a conversation about what happened in the series opener and how the Oilers ended up losing because of their mistakes and not because of the controversial goal call in the first period. Somehow the conversation about Game 1 led the boys to talk about their favourite Canadian cartoons and what's their approach to wearing a backpack. Why were they talking about vests and backpacks? No one knows for sure. From there, the guys welcomed John Scott back to the podcast for the first time since saying that the Oilers weren't going to amount to anything this season. After taking his lumps for a take that aged poorly, Scott gave the boys a few reasons why the

  • Oilers wrap up the BOA, head to Colorado for the Western Conference Final

    30/05/2022 Duración: 01h05min

A new week is here and that means the gang from the Real Life Podcast is back with a brand new episode to help you get through what’s left of your Monday. On today’s podcast, the guys looked at the Oilers wrapping up the Battle of Alberta in five games, what to expect from the Colorado Avalanche, and a whole lot more. To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started with a chat about the Battle of Alberta and how the Oilers managed to get through a series that no one expected them to win. Whether it was McDavid and Draisaitl's brilliance or some timely goals from throughout the lineup, the Oilers got plenty of key performances at clutch times and the Flames simply could not match. From there, the boys played a song parody by Captain Feltan that recapped the BOA in a pretty fantastic way and we defy you to not have this song stuck in your head. The guys also walked through where they were and what they were doing when McDavid scored the OT winner, and as you'd expect, the stress was real. Looking ahead at

  • Oilers have a chance to close and Mike McKenna from Daily Faceoff

    26/05/2022 Duración: 54min

Thursday is here and that means the boys from the Real Life Podcast are back with a brand new podcast to help you get set for Game 5 which will go down at the Saddledome starting at 7:30 pm. On today’s show, the guys looked back at Game 4, Nuge's big moment, and welcomed Mike McKenna from Daily Faceoff to break down what's been happening so far. Kicking off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with a conversation about the massive win in Game 4 and how it wasn't the prettiest win we've ever seen. The most important part about that win was how the Oilers did not fold despite the fact that the Flames were able to grind their way back into a tie game, including an insane long-distance goal that could have killed their spirit but ultimately did not. For all of us, the amazing thing about that win was that the Oilers didn't fold when times got tough and it was the kind of resilience that we haven't seen in a long time. From there, the guys welcomed Mike McKenna from Daily Faceoff to talk about t

  • Frank Seravalli is in studio & the Oilers are up 2-1 in the BOA!

    23/05/2022 Duración: 01h03min

It's a long weekend, the sun is shining, and the Oilers have a 2-1 lead in the Battle of Alberta. Life is good and we enjoyed it all today on a new episode of The Real Life Podcast. We were also joined by our good friend Frank Seravalli, who's in town to cover the series between the Oilers and Flames. Frank talked the Oiler's absolutely electric game three victory and making the drive from Calgary to Edmonton. Connor McDavid is on another level right now and the numbers that he's producing are absolutely historic. We talked about the magical run that he's on but don't get it twisted, even though the Calgary Flames may like to believe this is a one man team, it's not. The Oilers are getting contributions from plenty of other pieces of this lineup. We gave love to everyone who deserved it today on the show. Frank and Chalmers also talked about story telling in sports and they reminisced about the fact that Frank beat Chalmers in a golf bet last summer. Chalmers is itching to even the score and win back his mone

  • No time for nonsense, just Oilers talk

    19/05/2022 Duración: 52min

Ahhhh game one of the Battle of Alberta did not go the way we wanted. It was wildly entertaining with a total of 15 goals and a crazy comeback by the Oilers, but that didn't totally mask just how awful the team played for some long stretches. The guys opened up episode 380 of The Real Life Podcast by sharing their thoughts on the first game against the Flames and where they thought things went wrong for the team. Tyler and Jay shared their disappointment with the boy's effort in the first game. Wanye was without a doubt the most optimistic of the bunch, as he's been throughout his entire playoff run. Chalmers also popped in with his take and his frustration with the portion of the fan base that always seems to want to write this team off after every loss. The guys also joked about how since it's the playoffs and they're so focused on the Oilers every night, the podcast has lacked its usual amount of nonsense and tom-foolery. Instead, it's basically just been a straight-up Oilers podcast, which is weird, right

  • Game 7 Recap, Connor McDavid, and the Battle of Alberta

    16/05/2022 Duración: 53min

The Oilers are through to the second round and that means the gang from the Real Life Podcast is back with a brand new episode to help you get through what’s left of your Monday and preview the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. On today’s podcast, the guys looked at game seven of the Oilers vs Kings series, the upcoming Battle of Alberta, and a whole lot more. To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started by welcoming Captain Felton to the podcast after he flew in from Vancouver for Game 7 and how it was so special for him to be a part of the action. From there the boys spent some time recapping the absolute madness that was Game 7 on Saturday night, breaking down the evening from the vibes at Rogers Place to Connor McDavid's dominance on the ice. From there, the guys looked at the Leon Drasiaitl injury that came about in Game 6 after Mikey Anderson hauled him down from behind, and the concern is that he's going to miss some time in this series against the Flames. Lastly, the guys wrapped up the

  • Avoiding Elimination, Getting a Hot Start, and Coronation Street

    12/05/2022 Duración: 51min

Thursday is here and that means the boys from the Real Life Podcast are back with a brand new podcast to help you get through the rest of your week. On today’s show, the guys looked at tonight's do-or-die game for the Edmonton Oilers, what they need to do to make it happen, and a whole lot more. Kicking off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with a look back at Game 5 and how the Oilers need to do the opposite of basically everything they did on Tuesday to ensure that this series gets extended. From needing a quick start and avoiding undisciplined penalties, there is plenty of room for improvement for this hockey team and all of us are drinking the Kool-Aid and expecting the series to come back to Edmonton on Saturday. From there, the podcast fell off the rails as the guys somehow got into an extended conversation about Coronation Street and how the series has been going on for what seems like a century at this point. Getting back to the Oilers, the guys looked ahead at Game 6 and offered

  • On the road in Los Angeles!

    07/05/2022 Duración: 36min

THE BOYS ARE IN LA! Tyler, Jay and Baggedmilk made it to SoCal to take in games three and four of the Oilers series against the LA Kings. In today's bonus episode of the pod, they talked about watching the Oilers absolutely beat the wheels off the Kings and what it was like to be in the building for that game. The team is up 2-1 in their best of seven series and has regained home ice advantage! They talked about getting to meet a lot of Oilers fans at the game as well from all over the country! Of course, they've gotten into plenty of shenanigans as well. They met an Oilers prospect, drank litres of cola, became friends with some Kings fans, crashed a pre-game party and had an all-around good time. Baggedmilk also had a beer thrown at his head at the game, which is a wild story. They wrapped things up by talking about their plans for the day.  The Oilers are playing well, the guys are living their best lives in California, and they were also wildly hungover for this edition of the podcast! The stories were fl

On today’s podcast, the guys looked at game one of the Oilers vs Kings series, everyone's game day plans, and a whole lot more. To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started by sharing their excitement for the start of the playoffs as the Oilers are getting set to square off against the LA Kings in game one. That excitement led to Chalmers wondering what he should do about his kids' baseball practice that's scheduled to take place during the first period of the game. Obviously, the boys peer-pressured Chalmers as much as they could into canceling the practice entirely. Next up, the guys discussed their plan and approach for game one, including the expected BPP and where we'll be watching the game. Getting away from the Oilers for a minute, the guys looked around the NHL at some

On today’s show, the guys looked at the Oilers' playoff schedule, Jay's midnight baby emergency, and a whole lot more. Kicking off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with a conversation about banana bread after Jay revealed pre-podcast that the Chalmers household is the home for the city's greatest recipe. From there, Jay told a new parenthood story after he was awoken in the middle of the night for a daddy emergency that shook him to his core, and as you'll hear, it was a story that every parent has lived at one time or another. Changing gears, the guys welcomed Mark Printz from Flamesnation.ca to the podcast to talk about his intro to podcasting and how he carved out a niche for himself in an industry he desperately wanted to be a part of. Next up, the guys brought David Quadrelli from Canucksarmy to the podcast to talk about his cheese adv

  • Oilers clinch, Hart Trophy betting, and Playoff Preparation

    25/04/2022 Duración: 01h08min

A new week is here and that means the gang from the Real Life Podcast is back with a brand new episode to help you get through what’s left of your Monday. On today’s podcast, the guys looked at the Oilers locking in their playoff spot, betting on the Hart Trophy, and a whole lot more. To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started with a conversation about the NHL playoffs after the Oilers clinched their spot on Friday night with a huge win over the Colorado Avalanche. For Baggedmilk and Wanye — two guys that have been very careful over the last couple of years — the decision became whether or not it's worth the risk to go to the games. For everyone to a man, the answer is yes. From there, we looked at Connor McDavid's dash for the Art Ross Trophy as the Edmonton captain has once again gone supernova down the stretch. The question became, however, whether or not he'll be able to pass what has already been a career year for the first overall pick from 2015. Getting back to the team, the boys discussed th

  • Mascot Clones, Oilers Clinchmas, and a chat with Ben Hebert and Marc Kennedy

    21/04/2022 Duración: 01h04min

On today’s show, the guys looked at fake mascots, the Oilers' stretch run, and welcomed Ben Hebert to the podcast to talk a little curling. Kicking off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with a chat about a potential new podcast that they want to launch that talks about all of the random bets they're putting down on varying sports. Would it make sense to launch the BLT (Baggedmilk, Liam, Tyler) show? Perhaps. From there, Wanye joined the podcast and the conversation turned to last night's win against the Dallas Stars, and what the world would look like if we started cloning mascots. Sticking with the game, the guys walked through the vibes at Rogers Place and how it truly seemed like everyone showed up to the arena ready to have a good time. Lastly, the guys welcomed Ben Hebert and Marc Kennedy to the podcast to talk a little bit about their

  • The #NationVacation recap, Oilers win, and the Celebrity Net Worth game

    18/04/2022 Duración: 01h06min

A new week is here and that means the gang from the Real Life Podcast is back with a brand new episode to help you get through what’s left of your Monday. On today’s podcast, the guys looked at celebrity net worths, the #NationVacation, and a whole lot more. To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started with a chat about music after Wanye noticed that Baggedmilk was wearing his headphones on the outside of his hoodie for some reason. That somehow led the guys to talk about everything from Kenny G's help in the Kanye/Kim proposal to taking guesses at David Copperfield's net worth, which led to an impromptu game of who's richer. Whether it was comparing Backstreet Boys to N'Sync, the guys spent way too much time arguing about boy bands and whether these guys should still be dancing at their age. Changing gears entirely, Yaremchuk walked us through the #NationVacation to Nashville and how it was an incredible experience for everyone involved. From the game on the ice to the party after the buzzer, Tyler m

On today’s show, the guys looked at the first few days of fatherhood for Jay, the Nation Vacation in Nashville, and a whole lot more. Kicking off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the guys got started with a quick recap from Jay on what the first few days of fatherhood have been like, and how much his life has already changed in such a short period of time. From changing to diapers to the lack of sleep, nothing has been the same over the last week and it was a lot of fun to hear Jay talk about what being a new dad has been like for him. From there, the conversation turned to the #NationVacation that's happening down in Nashville right now, and how the boys that weren't able to attend were extremely jealous. As you'll hear, the stories that are happening down in Nashville have been pretty incredible, which did not do anything to help the envy the other boys were

Despite missing some time, Chalmers promised that he'll be bringing out his Cowboy Chris character for the playoffs after it was specifically requested by Jay. Turning to the Oilers, the gang checked in on the standings and how we're getting to a point in the season where every single point matters. Changing gears, the guys talked a little about F1 as this podcast continues to shift into a racing show based on the fine work of the F1: Drive to Survive series on Netflix. Sticking with sports, the guys then looked at the Masters that took place this past weekend and how it was a lot of fun to watch Tiger Woods get back out there o

  • Tyler vs Baggedmilk, the Masters, and an Oilers-Kings preview

Baggedmilk thinks it's rude, Tyler said it's not at all. Who is right? Neither, probably. Shifting gears to the Oilers, the guys talked a little bit about tonight's matchup against the Kings and how they need to play much better than they did against the Sharks if they're going to lock in two points. Sticking with the Oilers, the guys looked at Warren Foegele's future with the team and whether the team may have any interest in moving on this quickly. From an analytics perspective, there's a lot to like about Foegele but when it comes to

    04/04/2022 Duración: 01h10min

A new week is here and that means the gang from the Real Life Podcast is back with a brand new episode to help you get through what’s left of your Monday. If you're in Ontario, now is the time to sign up and get that free bonus. Getting back to hockey, the guys spent a few minutes talking about the melee that happened over the weekend after Trevor Zegras embarrassed the Coyotes with a Michigan goal when they were already up by a lot. Does it make sense to have a line brawl after a goal like that? Was it all about the situation? Was it Tyson Nash's fault for what he said on the broadcast? From there, we looked at Keith Yandle's ironman streak ending in Philly and whethe

As you'll hear, no detail was spared from this vacay as Chalmers gave a very thorough explanation of what he and his family were up to. Next up, Jay and Chalmers walked through their Peloton competitions that kicked off at the beginning of the pandemic and how both guys have fallen off a little bit since then. Getting back to hockey, the guys looked at the Oilers' last few games and how the team needed to find a way to bounce back after getting shelled in Calgary and looking so sloppy while they were at it. Thankfully, the guys were able to respond with a pai
