A recap of interesting news that caught our eyes over the last few weeks, and updates from the vegan world in Bangkok.

We thought we’d get people’s thoughts on a few labels — specifically, why the gender ratio is so skewed (04:47), how people stereotype your ability to go vegan based on factors like nationality & culture (17:18) and how everyone assumes you’re now a health-freak. This week, we talk about two polarising topcs among the vegan community: is the idea of having pets vegan to begin with, and is it hypocritical if vegans feed meat to their pets? Our thanks to [Axe House](http://www.axehouse.com).

An action packed double-digit episode! We met some of our listeners at our first community event who were kind enough to share some of their thoughts. Our thanks to Joy, Nathalia & Sandy for those. The Two Vegans talk about the rising awareness around plastic—in particular, various companies who’ve taken the initiative in Dubai and around the world to remove the use of single-use plastic in their operations. And we have a special guest from the European Union’s Sustainable Climate Unit. Jody Quirke shares some (scary!) statistics on the real plastic problem, and what the EU’s ambitious plastic strategy contains.

We catch up with Anum Mazhar, who runs [the Hub 7](http://thehub7.com), about running a restaurant in Dubai, expanding vegan options across their menu as well how her own personal transition impacted the restaurant directly.

We chat about Freedom Pizza changing their vegan cheese earlier this year, on the heels of Chirag’s interview with Ian Ohan, the company’s Founder & CEO. Turns out, Ian had an interesting announcement to share about their vegan lineup. Chirag was interviewing Ian for an episode regarding their recent investment in Wildpeeta.

Did you know some things you may have always thought to be vegetarian or vegan are really not? The vegans share some things they found out, or were surprised about themselves, such as fruit juices, sugar and—you might want to sit down for this—alcohol.

Chirag joins Aidan Coughlin on his new live show Inside Veganism to talk about the vegan scene in the UAE & India, as well as some of the introspection needed within the vegan movement. Inside Veganism launches its weekly live discussion show starting April 5 at 1900 UK time (2300 GST).

We talk about how animals are used for entertainment in zoos, circuses and sport.

Sharing an update with our thoughts from the first Vegan Information Seminar by The Vegucation Society on January 26. We also chat with Ronan Dennehey who was midway through a 7-day vegan challenge and Ram Prasad from Sharan India, one of the sponsors of the event.
