Been downsizing and out of nowhere came across the Arthur Ashe quote “To achieve greatness, start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.” Also, was "vlogging" and walked by a church where I went as a kid. Thought about the Black community and the concept of "praying" being a solution for mental health struggles.

Reflecting on being Black in the Maritime provinces.

Theme: West Africans wanting to be "close" to Europeans and perceived as being "good workers" vs those who owned farms or fished.

Recorded a three part episode, but I know people often don't have the time to consume long episodes...so I'm going to schedule these in a staggered manner and see how that turns out. Topics include: disordered eating, productivity, abusing power through "do gooderism", and "SJWs", "alt-right", and "whiteknighting"

Rant topics: - echo chambers and group think - celebrities - people pissed off on "social communication networks" and positivity - quote unquote "dumbing down" one's resume

Finally made the decision to go all in on my tablet and to get rid of my laptop. The overarching theme is downsizing, doing "more with less", and realizing that one doesn't always need quote unquote "more stuff".

Additional rant about the theme of non-African Americans weighing in on African-American issues. We're all "Black", but many different experiences making it hard to be quote unquote "a collective".

Re-explored an abandoned site in Centretown, Ottawa. Also taking a look at teaching abroad. Nothing concrete there, but got me thinking.

Nas, Chance, Kanye, Bill Cosby, Common, etc. Many people are in the spotlight and being called out for their actions, seeing consequences, and also getting called out for what they say. The question is now coming up in the online community (and IRL) whether we idolize too many false idols. Went on a rant about this topic.
