On this episode of Seneca Media Unscripted, the team sits down to talk about their internship experiences at Seneca College and share their advice for how students can get the most out of their opportunities.

Have you ever been to a concert or large scale event and wondered what went on behind the scenes to make it happen? Perhaps, you were intrigued by the people who take care of the technical side of things, like the lighting, sound/audio, visuals, and the overall choreography that make an event a reality? To answer those questions and more, we sat down with Event & Media Production students Heather Clark and Kathleen Mooney-Childs.

In this episode of Seneca Media Unscripted, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Radio and PR students Jeremiah Odufuwa and Nilou Alizadeh respectively both of whom work part-time for the Seneca Student Federation better known on campus as SSF. SSF is an organization that is made up of students who represent all students at Seneca. They run social events in the Hive, around the college, and help students to set up various clubs.

To shed some light into the bustling world behind the screens, and the sheer work that goes into producing a movie, we sit down with TV professor Kyle Francis, and TAs Nick Mammoliti and Eric Gani. They share all the film roles that help make movie magic happen.

we focus on a more professional side of social media, with Professor Martin Waxman, who teaches on the social media at Seneca College. He also owns his own PR firm and has several Lynda.com seminars on the subject as well. With so much experience, especially on the corporate or agency side, he is the perfect guest to advise students on how to navigate the world of social media in the professional landscape.

It's an Instagram world and we're all just living in it, or at least that's what it feels like sometimes. Whether you're in a band or an artist looking to share their work, social media is the way to get it done. But as most people quickly discover, it's not that simple. So is there a success formula to getting social media right? Turns out there is and digital marketing mastermind Dani Gagnon spills all the hacks you need to know to win on social media!

We take a look back at some of the most memorable events that took place at the School of Media during 2018, including a public speaking competition, attending TIFF, and hosting our own awards show.

What's it really like to be a student in Public Relations? What inspired them to choose this field? How do they cope with the flurry of activity, and what keeps them motivated on a daily basis? Academic life can be hectic and overwhelming, but there is one resource in the School of Media that can help. Meet Deanna Georgeson! She is the Academic Student Advisor for all the School of Media programs and she knows everything there is to know about being a successful student. Deanna is a wealth of knowledge and she was kind enough to sit down with us to go over all the frequently asked questions she gets from students.

By the time you reach college, chances are you've had quite a few 'first day of school' experiences, and yet somehow they still seem to bring about the same nerves. In this episode, we speak candidly about our experiences as students at Seneca, how to handle the nerves, and making the most of your time in college.

The self-help literature industry is a booming one, but how many of these books are actually helpful? To learn more about this popular genre, we review everyone's current favourite self-help book- The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*** by Mark Manson. There will be spoilers as we go through some of the chapters we found most impactful, discuss if the book helped us at all, and if it lives up to all the hype.

How do you determine how much you should charge in an industry when you're a newcomer and a freelancer? Thus is the struggle for many millennial professionals entering the work force. Self-doubt and uncertainty are ever present, but you shouldn't let them hold you back. Glenn Heshka, Television Broadcasting and experienced freelancer, joins us for this discussion to provide his insights and advice.
