Sinopsis

Minimal-ish is the podcast that encourages you to let go of material things and clear out your space to make room for what matters. Believe it or not, your stuff takes up your time, and cluttered spaces can be a source of anxiousness. Fill your life with the people and things that you love, and get rid of the rest. Through conversations with other women and moms on the same simple-living journey, the Minimal-ish podcast will encourage you towards the grace-filled, realistic form of minimalism that benefits your life and family most. Your host, Desirae Endres, is a stay at home/ work at home mom, teacher, and writer that believes that minimalism and having an uncluttered home environment can benefit everyone, but it doesn't look the same for everyone. Minimalism has changed her life, and if she can make minimalism attainable and sustainable in her life, anyone can. She brings honesty and transparency to the conversation as an admittedly (formerly-ish) unorganized, messy and anxious person.Grab a cup of coffee & listen in!

  • 198: Fostering more Creative, Independent Play in our Kids (with less stuff and less clutter) with Juliana Ong

    07/09/2023 Duración: 55min

Today, Juliana Ong of Stories of Play is my guest, and we talk all about the importance of play for our kids and how we can foster creative, open ended, independent play. While this is a fun, somewhat light hearted topic, it's also one where intentionality can make all the difference. I can vouch for this because after my conversation with Jules, I changed a lot about our family's play space and the way I approach and view play in our home, and I've seen so much more focused play from my girls. Jules has so much knowledge when it comes to this topic and she gives us permission to simplify things as she brings a wealth of ideas for us to implement to get started in simplifying play. This episode brings encouragement for any season, but it's certainly a great one for the back to school season. I hope you listen in and enjoy! • 189: Declutter the Content You're Consuming Online (social media, podcasts, etc) + The Way You Consume It

    06/07/2023 Duración: 43min

Do you ever feel overwhelmed, like there are a million things to do, but you're not sure where that feeling is actually coming from? Of course, a busy life can make us feel this way, but I think our brains are more overwhelmed than ever because of the amount of information we are able to take in thanks to the internet and social media. If you find yourself scrolling through social media, unsure of why you even opened the app in the first place, this is for you! "Consuming content" isn't a bad thing - there is great content out there in the world in the form of longer form content, like books and podcasts, and shorter form content such as an Instagram post. We can learn and grow and get great value from these things. The problem comes from the volume of it along with the addictive nature of the apps. Our brains simply weren't made to take in this much information in such short periods of time. Today we're working on decluttering our podcast feeds, our social media, and our email inboxes. Of course, we'll put a

  • 186: Declutter With Me: Your Clothes - Mindset Shifts, Decluttering tips, and Why Decluttering Our Clothes is So Impactful

    15/06/2023 Duración: 37min

Today we are talking decluttering our clothes - and we are specifically talking about our own, personal clothes (not our spouse's clothes or our kids' clothes.) I believe this is one of the most impactful areas of the home to declutter because we wake up and make a decision about what to wear every day. A cluttered, overfilled closet doesn't help us in that daily endeavor. Being that it's summer, this might be the most impactful time of the year to talk about this topic and make sure our closets are only filled with the clothes that we love and that fit us. I hope you'll join me today as we talk about why this is such an impactful area of the home to make minimal-ish, along with tips for decluttering this area of the home (by creating a personal uniform). I'm also sharing my recent experience decluttering my clothes and filling gaps in my supper wardrobe. • 179: On "Decluttering" and Coping with the Stress in our Lives with Stacey Littlefield

    27/04/2023 Duración: 51min

Today we're talking about stress - something 2/3 of us experience to an extent that it is actually effecting our health. We live in a stressed out society, and dealing with our clutter is one way to help lessen the stress in our everyday life. But there are so many different types of stress we deal with, and some of them we cannot "declutter" out of our lives. An important question becomes "how do we cope with this stress?" Today I have Stacey Littlefield as my guest. She is a master herbalist at Redd Remedies, and she has a degree in biology with a master's degree in herbalism. We talk quite a bit about how stress effects us as women and moms, and different ways that we can cope with that stress. We also talk about natural remedies we can use to help support our bodies in coping with stress. I also spend time today sharing some of my coping mechanisms for stress, and how I had to come to terms with the way that stress was effecting me this past year. It's a bit of a longer intro so I can share all of that wi
