Modern Rituals Latest in the lockdown series of interviews Adam spoke with Harry & Tom of Modern Rituals. This was one of my most interesting chats to date covering the writing and recording process of one of the UK’s most interesting rock bands. We talked around their two new songs ‘Thick Wall’ and ‘A Remark is in Order’ and why they were left of their 2020 album ‘This is the History’. And as ever we dive deep into their top gigs played and been to as fans. Adam and Harry realising they have very compatible taste. Next in the series of lockdown interviews Adam caught up with Ed of Berlin based band HEADS. a week before the release of their new album ‘Push’ which is out now. Ed talked through the making of ‘Push’ with guests such as Kristof from Swans. We discuss some his favourite gigs played including when he and his newlywed wife played a very impromptu gig. Also some superb musical discoveries for Adam when going over favourite gigs as a fan for Ed. Episode 9 is here and Adam caught up with Danny and Gareth from Noise Rock band USA Nails when they were fresh off their tour with Metz. They have been stalwarts of the UK music scene in this form and many others such as Silent Front & Dead Arms.  We discuss everything from the experience of touring in Europe, development as a band and playing on the same bill as Soulfly?! Their latest album 'Life Cinema' is available now along with a stellar back catalogue. Keep an eye out for updates on their next album which is being released sometime next year. 

On Episode 8 we are joined by Jim & Loz of duo, Cassels. Themes of their second album, 'The Perfect Ending' are discussed alongside their top 3 gigs played and been to as fans. We discuss the lyrics on song, 'In the Zoo They Feed Him Nuts' and why  the topic of sexual abuse & rape are the topic of this song and why they thought it important to release. Please note if you may find this difficult to listen to.  This was an interesting insight into what drives Cassels and the social themes they address.   

Episode 7 is here with Candi from Brighton based trio Lazybones. Adam asks all the probing questions as ever; the Brighton music scene, what is Candi reading and…crisps? As ever we cover her top 3 gigs played one side of the barrier and 3 as a fan the other side (think I need to name this section, suggestions on a postcard!). Enjoy!

Episode 6 Adam reviews the best festival in the UK, if not the world, ArcTanGent. He is joined by Djamila from the fervent hardcore band, Ithaca and Joe from Nuclear Blast records. We cover over 30 bands from openers, Big Lad, the two piece electro-rock band from London, through the apocalyptic rain and mud of Friday to the Djent pioneers, Messhugah.

In Episode 5 Adam spent some time with another Bristol based musician, Ash from Sugar Horse. They met up before Fraud’s all dayer to discuss everything from Ash’s inspirations such as Vennart/Oceansize and what it’s like to work at one of the best known venues in Bristol, The Mother’s Ruin. Adam also manages to get the meaning behind Sugar Horse's EP title spectacularly wrong. So much for doing research! In other news pleased to announce the guests who will be joining Adam on the next episode where we will be reviewing the best festival in the world, ArcTanGent.
