A new podcast hosted by comedian Jake Yapp and games journalist Tamer Asfahani that discusses their relationship with video games and how gaming has changed over the decades. Peppered with anecdotes, this podcast is a family-friendly look at gaming and meanders through funny, silly, emotional and thoughtful themes with gaming at the core of the discussion.

    In this module Jake and Tamer discuss the darker side of platform games. How are they concieved, why is platform pretence light and fluffy when actually it's quite a morbid narrative? The #metoo movement comes into discussion too as well as a brief mention of gamergate. But not to worry, it's not all dark! There is the quiz, which Tamer forgets is his turn, but is able to knock out a few questions during the course of the podcast... The team are also looking at implementing the forum for the site.     In this episode Jake and Tamer discuss the board game to video game transition, as well as games that have been made into board games. Jake has a little bit of a breakdown with a game he's downloaded on his mobile, however Tamer has been playing this game for some time, so tries to shed some light on to the game and how it works. They also look at the AAA title games (Hitman, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, Civilization) that have either evolved or been reimagined for tablet/mobile-based devices.     In this module Jake and Tamer explore the world of family games and discuss their experiences as children gaming and their kids' experiences today and how they compare. They also discuss game mechanics, such as crafting and whether it's a valid game mechanic. Jake also expresses his disappointment in both Monaco and the lack of being invited as Tamer tries to defend his position. No module would be complete without the quiz, and after last week's fiasco Tamer tries to regain some semblance of authority while Jake cares not for any of the quiz.
