Statue Cruises is how you get to Liberty Island. The cost to ascend 176 steps the the top of Liberty's Pedestal? $18.50. To climb to the top of her head (but not the torch; tourists aren't allowed access there)? $25. Pedestal tickets can sometimes be bought someday but tickets to the top usually need to be bought at least four months in advance. They are released periodically and sell out within days. There is a museum on the island and there is a small museum below the Statue. Avoid long lines?
