It's the Red Sox 1st loss of the season at Fenway.  The Jays scored 5 of their 6 runs with 2 outs against Red Sox pitchers. George Springer had 3 2-out RBI singles for the Blue Jays, who ended a 3-game losing streak.-----At the Plate: The Red Sox were held to 1 run on 3 hits over the first 7 innings by Jose Berrios. The Sox were 0-for-4 with Runners In Scoring Position and struck out 2 times vs. the Jays starting pitcher. Jarren Duran had a pair of Doubles, both against Berrios in the loss. The Red Sox were 1-for-11 with Runners In Scoring Position in the loss.-----Hang A Star On That 1!: Bo Bichette swung at the first pitch of the game from Richard Fitts and sent a shot to right-center field that was caught by Ceddanne Rafaela on the warning track and up against the short wall in front of the bullpen.  We'll call it Rafaela's best catch of the season so far.-----Fi

The Red Sox picked up their 1st series sweep of the season and have won 5 in a row after losing 4 straight.  The Red Sox tallied season-high's in both runs (18), and hits (22) with 10 extra-base hits. (1 HR & 9 Doubles).-----A Win for the Rookie: Hunter Dobbins was added to the roster for the doubleheader and notched the win in his Big League debut. The 25-year-old was staked to an early lead and gave up 2 earned runs over 5 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 5. Dobbins was an 8th Round pick out of Texas Tech in 2021. He was named as the Red Sox 2024 Minor League starting pitcher of the year & he was added to 40-man roster in offseason.-----1st Walk-off of the Season: The Red Sox came from behind and won the first game of the doubleheader, 5-4 in 10 Innings. The Sox got 2 runs in the bottom of he 9th to even the game at 4-4, and Wilyer Abreu walked it o

The Red Sox celebrated their 114th Home Opener at Fenway Park with a 13-9 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday afternoon in Boston. The Red Sox have won 3 in a row for the 1st time this season and are 4-4 through their 1st 8 games. The Red Sox are now 64-50 all-time on Opening Day at Fenway Park. They’re 14-7 in their last 21 home openers (since 2005). ----- Boom Go the Sox: The Red Sox scored 5 runs in the 1st inning off of Cardinals starter Erick Fedde. Alex Bregman got the Red Sox on the board 1st for the 3rd straight game with an RBI Double. Trevor Story followed 2 batters later and hit a 3-run Home Run, his 2nd of the season. The very next hitter Wilyer Abreu hit his 3rd of the season to make it 5-0. It's his 1st with the Red Sox.  Kristian Campbell made it 4-1 with a 2-run shot of his own in the 2nd Inning. Like Bregman, Tristan Casas hit his 1st Home Run of the season and made it 7-3 with his own 2-run shot in the 7th Inning.   -----Houck's Outing: Tanner Houck made his 2nd start of the season and ended up going 4+ Innings against the Orioles.
