Pliny Kyle, and Daniel have some laughs while Kyle tells his hunting story where he doubled up on whitetail on a morning hunt from the ground in central Texas during general season. This is at least the third time Kyle has shot a double since he has been hunting whitetail deer.

Nate returns to Adventure Talk Live (the video version of the adventure talk podcast) to tell fishing stories from the mountains of Colorado and and the gulf coast of Florida.

The conclusion of the three-part November Deer Camp Series with Daniel and Kyle. We recap the events of the last hunt, including a failed recovery and a successful harvest.

We recap day two of our hunting camp (In the late morning of day 3). Unfortunately Daniel didn't see anything all day. Pliny has a doe kill that didn't go as planned, and Kyle shoots at a big buck!

Kyle, Daniel, and Pliny arrive into deer camp and give discuss their opening thoughts and strategies for this weekend... and of course tell some silly stories along the way. With a couple deer tags each on the opener of gun season, it is sure to be a fun weekend!

In this episode, I prepare for gun season and describe my deer rifle, including the features and the though processes and research behind selecting those features. I focus on how I set it up, the ammo, optic, and sling that I use, and why this is a great combination for my style of hunting. I have been bow hunting for the last few weeks, but it is now time to turn my attention to my trusted boom stick and put some more deer meat in the freezer.

Kyle joins Adventure One to talk all about hunting, including writing our annual hunting goals for the 2019 and 2020 season. By starting late we end up writing a few items that have already been accomplished, but we definitely have our work cut out for us! We also discuss how hunting has changed for us in Michigan.

Kyle returns for an episode of Adventure Talk Live. We're all over the place on this one, but have fun discussing the ups and downs of archery season, some ridiculous hunting products on the market, and honing our game cleaning skills in the off season.

I got back from Idaho and went to test my bow before the Texas archery opener. When I went to test my bow, my peep fell out. This quick story is about turning a last minute equipment failure into confidence when heading into the field.

In this episode, I describe the my hunting arrows for the 2019 - 2020 season. I explain the components I used, and why I chose them, from the broadheads all the way to the vanes. This is a bit more technical than some of my other "chat" or "storytelling" episodes, but hopefully the content is helpful to those getting into bowhunting.

In this episode, I tell the story about my recent trip down to my south Texas deer lease. I put in a solid day's work filling feeders, fixing fences, messing with trail cameras, and setting up a new bowhunting stand. If you have scouting to do before deer season, or you still have some summer property prep work, hopefully this inspires you to get out an get it done, while giving you a few ideas for your own hunting spot. I can't wait until whitetail archery season this October.

After returning from a recent hiking trip in Idaho's beautiful Sawtooth Wilderness, the crew (Pliny, Jonathan, Melody, Natalie, Alex, and Philip) reflect on a potentially life-threatening (possibly HACE, High-altitude cerebral edema) emergency in the mountains.

Happy Independence Day to my fellow American outdoorsmen! I wanted to take a few minutes to reflect on the meaning of Independence Day. It is great to have a day away from work, but the root of independence day means much more. Think about your liberties and freedoms - how you are expressing them, or letting them fall away. Think on what it means to be independent and to be free. I wish you a wonderful holiday. Stay safe, be free, and never stop seeking adventure!

I took a trip down to my south Texas deer lease. My goals were to build a box blind for rifle season and to build a feeder setup, designed to feed corn and protein through the summer - of course with cameras on it the whole time.
