    In celebration of the recent 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment, we are rebroadcasting this Morning Show interview from the summer of 2018 in which a number of scholars from around the western hemisphere talk about the struggle for women's suffrage in both North and South America.   These scholars were gathered at Carthage College for a symposium titled "Women's Suffrage in the Americas" under the auspices of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

    This Morning Show interview actually dates back to the spring of 1997.  The interview is conducted by Bill Guy, long-time News Director at WGTD and the creator of the Morning Show.   At the time of this interview,  Bill and I were sharing hosting duties for the Morning Show.  This is a highly revealing behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to compete on "Jeopardy,"  a game show that has been very much in the news recently because of the impressive winning streak of James Holzhauer (which recently came to an end.)  Professor Mayer is a Biology Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.   Bill Guy passed away in 1998 at the age of 50.  I still miss him.

Debra Ford,  Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside ....  and John Swallow,  President of Carthage College.   They are part of a new consortium of 18 leaders of higher learning in Southeastern Wisconsin.  HERA (The Higher Education Regional Alliance) has been organized to allow these 18 colleges and universities to work together in new and exciting ways.
