Sportswriter John Eisenberg talks about his most recent book, "The Streak:  Lou Gehrig, Cal Ripken Jr., and Baseball's Most Historic Record."   The book explores Gehrig's long-standing record for most consecutive games played in major league baseball- a streak eventually ended when Gehrig began to experience the first symptoms of ALS.  It also explores other attempts at breaking the record before Ripken managed to do so. 

For Thanksgiving, we're sharing an interview with Gina LaRoche and Jennifer Cohen, co-authors of "The 7 Laws of Enough:  Cultivating a Life of Sustainable Abundance."  The book is written to help all of us find deeper appreciation for what we have.  

Marta McDowell's "Emily Dickinson's Gardening Life:  The Plants and Places that Inspired the Iconic Poet" sheds illuminating life on an important facet of poet Emily Dickinson's life- her love of gardening.  McDowell was the first gardener-in-residence at the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts.
