Chaleff examines the different kinds of followers that surround a toxic leader and the various roles that they play in how that leader gains power- as well as what can lead to that leader's downfall.

We speak with rock musician Ike Reilly and two of his three sons (Kevin and Mickey) ahead of a screening this Friday night of the award-winning documentary film "Don't turn your back on Friday night," which chronicles his career. Preceding the interview with Ike Reilly is a brief conversation with Michael Schmiedeler, the director of the film. The screening will occur in the Campbell Student Union- and will be followed by a Q & A and a performance by Ike Reilly and all three of his sons.

I speak with four Carthage students (director Emily Halfmann and actors Ellie Neybert, Lily Anderson and Jessie Skonesey) about Lee Blessing's play "Eleemosynary," which is being performed October 12, 13 and 14 in Carthage's studio theater. The play is the story of three women- three generations of the same family- and the complicated dynamics between them.

From 2015 - Buzz Bissinger talks about his most famous book, "Friday Night Lights: A Town, A Team and a Dream," about the high school football team in Odessa, Texas. The occasion of this interview was the release of a special 25th anniversary edition of Bissinger's best-seller that includes updates on some of the people who appear in the book.

Matthew Hougland, Ella Bergfeld and Jon Rasmussen talk about Carthage College's production of the musical XANADU, which runs the next two weekends. Professor Hougland is the director of the production, and Ella and Jon play two of the leading roles in this colorful, high-energy show.

Baseball legend Pete Rose, one of the sport's most colorful and controversial players, died on Monday the 30th of September at the age of 83. Here is a conversation from earlier in the year with Keith O'Brian, the author of a biography of Pete Rose titled "Charlie Hustle: The Rise and Fall of Pete Rose and the Last Glory Days of Baseball."

Liz Kleinrock and Caroline Kusin talk about their new children's book "What Jewish Looks Like," which celebrates the amazing diversity of the Jewish community by highlighting the legacy and accomplishments of some noteworthy people of the Jewish faith.

Local writer Robert Katzman has written a multi-volume memoir of his life ..... the first volume of which is titled "Lost Boy: On Beating a Child," in which he talks about much of what he endured during his difficult childhood, including abuse of various kinds from his parents. We preview tomorrow night's American Experience documentary airing on PBS stations across the country, including channel 10 in Milwaukee. "The American Vice President" talks about the somewhat murky beginning of this often maligned office- left vague by the framers of the constitution- and the way that various vice presidents have been called upon to assume the office and duties of the presidency if the chief executive died or was killed. Michele Ferrari is writer/producer/director of this fascinating film.

This recital is part of a weekend of festivities that kick off the congregation's 150th anniversary celebration.
