  • 31st Session - Damage Boosted

    22/09/2019 Duración: 01h11min

Special Guest Brok Holliday from the Damage Boost podcast joins us!  Joel won’t shut up about River City Girls, Getty has mixed feelings on Gundam Battle Gunpla Warfare, and Brok introduces us to Dead By Daylight and the latest, awesome Stranger Things DLC in Early Adopter.  News this week is game industry heavy, so we end up veering off on tangents.  Alex gets funky in backlog blog with breakdancing rhythm game Floor Kids, and Joel outlines his experience revisiting Super Mario World watching Kelly play as a newbie with a fresh set of eyes.  We end the show talking with Brok about his podcast and what his experience has been starting this project and streaming. Quick reminder!  Extra life is coming up, and we’ll be doing a 24 hour stream on November 16th!  Be sure to keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks on how you can help support our campaign and the cause, as well as see what kind of shennanigans we’ll get into. • 30th Session - You KNOW That There's Flossing

    15/09/2019 Duración: 01h19min

For our 30th Session, Early Adopter begins with a lesson in body horror in the Speaking Simulator beta followed by Alex & Getty’s squading-up for the Ghost Recon beta on PS4.  News is jam packed between bizarre fast food licensed marketing games, nostalgia fuel, gaming retail failure, and surprise surprise, another oddball Nintendo accessory game.  In the backlog blog, Joel gets elbowed-out from discussing his SNES BS so Getty can take a tour of the neon pink painted post apocalyptic dystopia in Far Cry: New Dawn and Alex can detail one of his favorite go-to time wasters in Rainbow Six: Siege.  We wrap up the show with a new segment, “Sometimes Dead is Better?”, in which we highlight a dormant game series we want to get a revival of or an ongoing series we think could do well to take a break. Quick reminder!  Extra life is coming up, and we’ll be doing a 24 hour stream on November 16th!  Be sure to keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks on how you can help support our campaign and the cause,

  • Bonus Session: Interview With Andrew Trahan of Stray Basilisk

    22/05/2019 Duración: 43min

This special bonus session is a conversation with Andrew Trahan, one of three from developer Stray Basilisk. They are currently working on Steamhounds, a great multiplayer steampunk themed JRPG/tactical battle hybrid we played back in session 12’s early adopter segment. We discussed Andrew’s way into game development, the dynamics of working as an indie team, Steamhounds and the progress being made towards final release, and a little bit about what he’s been playing.  You can follow him on twitter @andrewrtrahan, or the team @StrayBasilisk to keep up to date on their progress in developing Steamhounds – this info will be included in the show notes as well.  The audio unfortunately came out with a little extra background noise and static than we’re usually comfortable sharing, but rather than cut parts with noise, we’ve decided to release the interview in full. Apologies in advance for that. We had a lot of fun talking to Andrew, and hope you’ll enjoy listening.
