2020 is almost over, dear listeners, we made it. So we're kicking off the last week of the year, AKA No Monsters Week, with a badass Civil War veteran, William Carney. Not only did he survive one of the war's most brutal battles, he got some goddamn accolades for how he handled himself. His part in the war, and his whole unit's part really, had a ripple effect that played a role in the Union victory over the Confederacy. But he was pretty successful at traveling around the French countryside like European Grapes of Wrath. Just all migranty. And also super murdery. These two hardcore Russian shitkickers didn't have a ton of details on their battles, so we decided to combine them into one glorious Soviet episode. Yevdokiya and Mariya joined up to fight the Nazis in WW2 for different reasons, but they both left their mark in significant ways and showed that, as Jay-Z said, ladies is pimps too. Enjoy!

Then suffered through the usual ailments from that war, but he talked about it and gave us some insight into what the soldiers had to endure after coming back home.
