Jeff George & the ’99 Vikings |
21/06/2022 Duración: 55minAfter a disappointing end to the great 1998 season, the Vikings found themselves at 2-4 to start the 1999 season. Randall Cunningham looked to have nothing left in the tank, so head coach Dennis Green decided to turn to Jeff George. Signed to be the backup quarterback after trading Brad Johnson to Washington, George wasn't expecting to play. Instead, he got the call and led the Vikings to an 8-2 record. Join host Tyler and producer Dave as they dive into the chaos of Jeff George and how beautiful his deep ball was. Take this trip down memory lane, looking at how Jeff George saved the 1999 season. Join Tyler on The Real Forno Show. Fan with us!!! Is Dantzler the Best? | Two Old Bloggers
19/06/2022 Duración: 51minThe Minnesota Vikings have completed mini camp and the team is on vacation, but that doesn’t mean things stop here. Two Old Bloggers with Darren and Dave discussing interesting Vikings storylines as we head towards training camp. The analytics and statgasm folks are all excited about Cameron Dantzler. Inspired by Will Ragatz’s piece earlier in the week, it turns out The Needle overall looks pretty damn effective as a cornerback. This is both against the pass and especially against the run. That is something the Ed Donatell defense will need. Exactly how effective was he? Is Dantzler the best CB on the team? What does that mean for Patrick Peterson and first-round draft pick Andrew Booth? We take a deep dive and deep thoughts on the forgotten players. Who are they? They are the ones chosen in mid to late rounds by the previous administration that saw little or no time in games. Are they worth their selections if they were just long-term prospects? Were they just ignored by Mike Zimmer who was in win-now mod

Missed Opportunities: MVPercy |
14/06/2022 Duración: 01h22sAfter discussing the pivotal 1997 wild card game, we dive into another mostly forgotten storyline: The MVP case of Percy Harvin. While Adrian Peterson receives the credit for the success of the 2012 team, Harvin's MVP start to the year over the first nine games is mostly forgotten. Join host Tyler Forness and producer Dave tonight at 8 pm central as they delve into what made Harvin an MVP candidate, the drama surrounding him during his time with the Vikings, and what led to his controversial trip to Injured Reserve. In 2012: Harvin was placed on IR on Dec 5, 2012. Harvin injured his ankle during Minnesota's Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, suffering an entire ligament tear in his ankle -- or a Grade 3 sprain. Harvin finished the 2012 season with 62 receptions in nine games, for 677 yards and three touchdowns. Harvin returned 16 kickoffs for 574 yards -- including a 105-yard touchdown run. On 22 carries, Harvin rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown in 2012. Take this trip down memory lane, looking at

“It’s Really Muddy” | Two Old Bloggers
12/06/2022 Duración: 01h01minThe Minnesota Vikings have completed mini camp and the team is heading for vacations. My guess is that the tee times will fill up quickly. That doesn’t stop Two Old Bloggers with Darren and Dave discussing interesting Vikings storylines as we head towards training camp in a month and half. We are looking at exactly how much better Kirk Cousins can be in a Kevin O’Connell offense and under his tutelage again. Can KOC and Wes Phillips devise methods and schemes that unlock another level in Kirk’s play? Can there be a video game type reward or bonus that will chime every time that he does? Then with the preseason schedule firmed up with dates and times, what will be O’Connell’s approach? The Rams barely if at all played their starters in the preseason last year. It turned out pretty successfully for them. Will Kevin do the same? Should he? We’ll wrap it up with some quick hitting topics, like the tight ends, Dalvin Cook, Garret Bradbury eating like a teen ager, and some roster churning. It should be fun! Darr

Hot Seat in 1997 with Judd |
07/06/2022 Duración: 01h15minJudd Zulgad joins Tyler for the Real Forno Show. They’ll be looking back at the 1997 wildcard playoff game of your Minnesota Vikings vs the Jim Fassel led New York Giants. Dennis Green was on the hot seat. He had to get the win. It was a cold rainy day in the astroturf clad Giants Stadium. Randall Cunningham fumbled on two consecutive snaps, and even the sure handed Cris Carter dropped a pass. The Vikes went down 19-3 by halftime. Things were looking as gloomy as the weather. The game turned out to be very close and most definitely a field goal clinic, but what did it mean for the franchise moving forward? How does it apply to today’s team? Take this trip down memory lane, that directly led to the offensive philosophy seen in 1998 and hopefully in 2022. Join Tyler with Judd on The Real Forno Show. Fan with us!!! Churning & Burning | Two Old Bloggers
05/06/2022 Duración: 01h12minThe Minnesota Vikings have completed another week of OTA’s with one more to go. The injury bug has started to show up and it has directly led to some roster churning and burning of previous depth chart rankings. A couple of players were released, including AJ Rose [a.k.a. AXL] and breakout hopeful Kenny Willekes. The Vikings reached out and looked to add to the wide receiver room to beef it up. They first attempted to re-sign Dede Westbrook, but he failed to return the call after his workout, so they scooped up former Chiefs and Dolphins pass catcher, Albert Wilson. Then to replace Willekes, they selected journeyman defensive lineman, Jonathan Bullard. First, another look at how the offense can improve. Beefing up the WR room makes for more competition, but comes when Ihmir Smith-Marsette and KJ Osborn get dinged up. A quick look at finishes in the rankings, and what Kevin O’Connell even as a rookie head coach can do to turn those outcomes into a top 10 offense. Finally, we’ll answer your questions, and aga

A New Attitude | Two Old Bloggers
29/05/2022 Duración: 50minThe Minnesota Vikings have completed another week of OTA’s and the mood is light. Will this new car smell energy and attitude translate to more wins? We will have to see, but as of right now everyone seems a lot happier. What are the chances this turns into something special, and by that, we mean a run all the way to the Super Bowl? Is there a chance? Dave and Darren look at the times it did happen in the past. “So there is a chance!” There will be some quick tidbits and storylines to fill out the final theme, but do not sleep on them, the team isn't planning to. Kevin Seifert wrote a compelling piece on how Kevin O’Connell looks to utilize a healthy Irv Smith. Speaking of healthy, or not, there was drama kicked up over Kellen Mond and what happened last season. Was Mike Zimmer just the grumpy old man sticking it to Rick Spielman or was there a bit more to the story? You decide. …And what is up with the trend of player’s fathers making a fuss in the media? That didn’t happen in the past. Could you imagine Be

Cousins Greater Than Culpepper & Tarkenton - Really? |
24/05/2022 Duración: 01h07minWhether it is new math or old math, we’ll be looking at which Vikings quarterback is greater, but first… On tonight's episode of The Real Forno Show, we dive into two topics. Host Tyler Forness will give a brief overview of the late-round picks and what the future could be. The picks were: Rd 5 / pick 165 (22) Esezi Otomewo, Minnesota DE Rd 5 / pick 169 (26) Ty Chandler, North Carolina RB Rd 6 / pick 184 (5) Vederian Lowe, Illinois OT Rd 6 / pick 191 (12) Jalen Nailor, Michigan State WR Rd 7 / pick 277 (6) Nick Muse, South Carolina TE The other topic will be a tad more contentious. There was a major discussion over the weekend comparing Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks across eras and who is the most skilled. Who is the best Vikings quarterback? There is a segment of the fanbase that believes it's Kirk Cousins while others believe it's Daunte Culpepper and Fran Tarkenton. Producer Dave joins Tyler in discussing how to compare players across eras. Fan with us!!! Tyler Forness @TheRealForno and Dave Stefano

Is Bradbury a Bust? | Two Old Bloggers
22/05/2022 Duración: 52minThe Minnesota Vikings have started their OTA schedule and the veteran players arrived earlier in the week. How was the team looking this early? Is there a competition at center or is the team rolling with Garret Bradbury? Is Bradbury a bust or the answers at center? First, however, it is time to answer viewer questions about the team. Darren and Dave are in a question answering mood. Dave and Darren will then get into part 3 of who will be a breakout player this season. Lynch showed heart and flashed on occasion when he was on the edge. Will he stop up and cement a spot on the roster? Will he play more snaps from the edge or move into the DE position around the 5T position? The guys will make the case that he is about to breakout. Darren Campbell and David Stefano are the Two Old Bloggers. Both have started their public commentary on the Vikings two decades ago on various blogs. They now do it via live streams on YouTube and Facebook. We appreciate your team fandom and that you take the time enjoy it with u

Schedule Worries? | Two Old Bloggers
15/05/2022 Duración: 52minThe Minnesota Vikings have their 2022-23 schedule now in print, so let’s look at it a little more in-depth and see who challenges our favorite team. The NFL Schedule makers look to be up to their old tricks again. However, on the bright side, they did move the week 5 bye at the request of the Vikings to week 7. Thanks for the lollipop guys, but where did you shaft the team? December? January? You know they did. Kevin O'Connell and Ed Donatell will have their hands full with some of the quarterbacks the team will face and when. However, at least it wasn’t last year’s lineup except for Aaron Rodgers, Kyler Murray, and Jared Goff. Darren is worried about the backup quarterback situation. Should he be? Should you? Kirk Cousins “never gets hurt” right? Sean Mannion should be a sideline coach, but the money is better as a player. What about 2021 3rd round pick, Kellen Mond. Is he as bad as Mike Zimmer thought he was, or may Kevin O’Connell coach him into a valuable player that could actually win games? It’s a gre
