The talk with your doctor on the day he or she told that you had contracted genital herpes is likely one of them. More moments and feelings like this happen ever since you were diagnosed. You are more aware of herpes jokes. You are aware of the chances of being accepted or rejected for having herpes. Recently I experienced a subtle rejection around the herpes stigma. I was not sure how to respond because I wasn’t sure how to feel about being rejected. Then it hit me to see rejection as a redirection. You are never rejected, only redirected.
