Rentervention is a joint project of the Lawyers' Committee for Better Housing, Illinois Legal Aid Online, and the Lawyers Trust Fund of Illinois. It is a natural language processing chatbot that helps people who normally would have had to go through a confusing FAQ page or search for legal assistance online “in the dark”. Renny (the chat bot) helps people find the specific legal help they need just after a few questions. I discussed with two representatives Hannah and Conor on how we can improve renter’s ability to get the legal support they need when they need it, flaws and room for improvement in our legal system in general that we can start to address, and so much more.
