My conversation with Dr. Tom Tonkin. We had a wide ranging conversation. He dropped a lot of knowledge on us including the following tidbits: Tom has a background in NLP. Here is a brief overview of the inputs that Tom spoke of. Tom’s favorite British Statistician of the 1700s actually turns out is George E.P. Boxof the 1900s, but no matter. The quote is “All models are wrong but some are useful.” I mentioned the concept that it is not a lack of resources but rather a lack of resourcefulness that stops you attributed to Tony Robbins. This lead to a conversation about Self Directed Learning. Tom mentioned four components to self directed learning: 1) Being Resourceful 2) Having a Desire 3) Having Persistence and 4) Having Initiative.
