This may be my most controversial interview yet! I'm interviewing award-winning author Laura Hunter, who recently released her book, Summer of No Rain. Being southern herself, Laura eloquently captures the southern culture of the 1960s in this fictional book based on real-life events. During her research as a writer, Laura Hunter stumbled upon a case of eugenics in Alabama made it all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The government was using a secret drug to sterilize "certain" populations. As an author who endorsed this book personally, I found this information extremely eye-opening because the drug is still in use today, and I myself was offered it in the 90s.
