They seem to be a big part of the culture of countries worldwide, with their influence here in America being prominent in the entertainment industry as well. The media has even created celebrity monsters on several occasions by hyping them up in highly stylized and dramatized coverage that draws the attention of the masses. Perhaps this is an echo of humanity’s macabre fascination with death from our more uncivilized past.
