Typically, less than 10 percent of the patients transported by traditional “adult” transport teams are under the age of 14.Research has shown that outcomes are better when children are transported by dedicated neonatal and pediatric transport teams. Highly specialized neonatal and pediatric programs, such as the Critical Care Transport Program at Children’s Mercy Kansas City, can be the difference between life and death.
