171. Benevolent Pain

In this moment, I'm choosing a belief where pain is here to help us rather than to shame and diminish... Maybe our perception of pain and passion doesn't have to be at odds with each other.   Rather, they could BOTH be benevolent and allow us to overcome and become stronger.   As I honor the 7 years since the passing of my first husband, Josh, I am preparing for our firstborn, Justin, to graduate from high school.   These 7 years feel significant as I recognize a completely new person in the mirror.   I bring this idea of pain to the table because we are so programmed to do whatever we can to NOT feel pain. Our bodies have been programmed that way. So when we do notice pain, we tend to hide it, and shame ourselves for feeling it.   But when we listen and witness what is really causing the pain, we are able to connect more deeply within.   Friend, it's time to come face to face with who you are and why you are here - without the labels, expectations, and judgments.
