After doing something, if you can honestly say it was the best you could have done, nobody can fault you. But if you did not pursue the work in a conscientious way, with an understanding of the consequences to yourself or whoever you work for, you have no excuse. This is a piece of internal communication with my team, as well as a lesson for everyone who wants to accomplish big things in this world: Everyone likes to make excuses for why they didn’t do as good a job as they wanted, but pure results are the real measure of what has been done.
