I'm living a life I never expected to have. Growing up, I was shy and didn't think I had much to say. When I was 24 an insightful manager of mine encouraged me to find my voice so I could be a stronger leader. At that time, I was panicking before staff meetings, worried about being singled out, and working harder than ever to fit in. I decided to take him up on his advice and spent the next four years working through my fear of speaking (to anyone, really) and found confidence to not only get on stage and present, but also to quit my job and start a business. At 28, I became an independent career consultant and wrote my first book, The Anti-Resume Revolution. Since then, I've become an award-winning professional speaker, written four more books, helped thousands of people find or create work they love, and got invited to the TEDx stage twice.
