J. Elaine was born in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. At age 9, she felt the first adrenaline rush of "getting a laugh" on stage at a performing arts camp, and from that moment on, J. Elaine's mission has been to incorporate laughter into everything she did, be it in her dance competitions, in french class or even as the Student Council President of her High School.   J. Elaine moved to New York City, pounded the pavement and graduated from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy as a true quadruple threat; singer, dancer, actor, comedian. At the time of graduation, J. Elaine was offered The National Tour of A Chorus Line.  She would revisit that iconic show 3 more times in different stages of her career, always playing "Connie Wong, it's always been Connie Wong", under the direction of the one and only Baayork Lee. J. Elaine made her Broadway debut in 1999 in Miss Saigon and continued to work on Broadway in the revivals of Flower Drum Song with Lea Salonga, Wonderful Town with Brooke Shields, Sweet Charity wi
