1001 Stories For The Road

The War of the Worlds was written by H.G. Wells in 1897 and since then has been retold in numerous movies, books, and radio adaptations, almost all of which have changed the story and the locale where the story took place, which is the countryside just outside of London. In this story, the inhabitants of Mars, knowing that their resources are running out, attack our Earth with superior weaponry, and England finds itself in a fight for survival. The book version as shared here is the best of all of them in my opinion and makes for a great story, I have added a seven minute intro to familiarize you with some of the backstory.
