Wrestling is one of the original athletic arts of mankind. From self defense, to occupying and improving the mind and body of youth, to college scholarships and World Olympic competition. Indian country is well represented With Cheyenne River Sioux, Josh Schremp, head coach of the Eagle Butte-Dupree Braves wrestling program in In South Dakota. Today on Word With A Champ, Coach Schremp describes the advantage individuals may acquire by the requirements of this sport. We invite tribal leaders and community high schools to increase existing efforts, or begin to develop this worthwhile and cost effective opportunity in reservation and small community school programs across the continent, towards the sport of wrestling.
