Arguably one of the best horror genre films in over twenty years, both as screenwriter and director, Neil Marshall takes a fairly common unoriginal idea of adventure seekers getting lost and turns it into a fresh and innovative concept. With elements from such films as Deliverance, The Thing, and The Edge, Neil Marshall created a screenplay that consisted entirely of women. After the tragic death of our lead protagonist's family, a group of friends bring Sarah to the rural sections of North Carolina to do spelunking/caving for an all-girl getaway.
