Hello beer lovers! This week's episode, we are discussing River Horse's Imperial Pumpkin Ale aka Hipp-O-Lantern. I am joined by the wonderful New Jersey brewery's head brewer Chris Rakow. We had a good time talking about drinking bold beers with lots of warming alcohol in them like RH's spectacular pumpkin brew. 'Tis the season to drink pumpkin ales and Hipp-O-Lantern is always my first thought when the leaves fall from the trees. I know some stay away from the pumpkin for fear of a light beer with an artificial squeeze of flavor in it, but River Horse does not mess around with their fresh pumpkin puree mixed into this 8% plus, hearty brown. I wrote a quippy paragraph - not unlike the one above - about Hipp-O-Lantern for that short lived men's site I scribed for. Here's what I wrote...  If Oktoberfest had sex with a pumpkin, this beautiful beer would be its love child.
