It first aired on National Public Radio on March 2, 1981.[1] The episode's action begins before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and includes adaptations of scenes that were cut from the film.[2] The entire episode takes place on the planet Tatooine and depicts the life and concerns of Luke Skywalker before fate drew him into the Rebellion and the Galactic Civil War.
