Virginia is just 38th among the states when it comes to the production of craft beer, but last year's 36% growth is proof that there is a growing thirst for Virginia brew. The economic benefits of Virginia brewing are nothing to scoff at either. The industry provides over 50,000 jobs to workers in all corners of the Commonwealth and generates $1.3 billion dollars in tax revenue. We'll talk today with the owners and brew masters of five local breweries about how they got their starts and where the trend of craft brewing in Hampton Roads and Virginia is headed.
