Prior to going to veterinary college he grew up in Papua New Guinea, where as a child, he developed a keen interest in animal care and husbandry.In 2000, he graduated from Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Since then, he has worked with both large and small animals, and has developed an interest in pocket pets. He is a member of American Veterinary Medicine Association and the D.C. Academy of Veterinary Medicine. He lives in Tysons Corner with his wife Elisa, son Reed, daughter Gwyneth, cat Autumn, and dog Chance.
