Despite the pull on funding part way through the post production process (causing the comically bad CG) this film is just a general mess. The story makes no sense ... the quasi science makes NO sense ... and the casting is dubious at best. Ben Kingsley being the only thing that saves us from the wicked queer "science" of one Edward Burns. While the film is barely in the vicinity of the original short story plot line ... I feel like Ray was doing somersaults in his grave while this was, briefly, in the theaters. Ah well ... James strikes again.
