Michael Imhotep host of The African History Show on the Feb. 11th, 2018 edition of the show discussed a new study from the Southern Poverty Law Center that shows how the topic of Slavery is largely being mistaught in our schools, the wide ranging ramifications of this and what can be done. Superbowl XLII was Feb. 4th, 2018 and many people were upset about a Dodge Ram ad that used an excerpt of a speech from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A Queens, New York Senior named Malcolm Xavier Combs was barred from having his name on his sweatshirt "Malcolm X" by administrators at his school because he was told Malcolm X is not someone he would want to be associated with. The #BlackPantherChallenge which has raised over $300,000 to buy tickets for school children to be able to go see the film. A petition on Change.org is asking Marvel Studios that 25% of the profits from the "Black Panther" movie be reinvested into the African American community since a lot of the ticket sales are coming from African Americans.
