And if I had not lost the weight, I would have more than likely tried to lose it before the reunion, or just said no due to being ashamed of my body. I got a concerned email from a listener who said statements like that may not be sending the right message to women who are struggling with their weight or body acceptance. They may see my statement as a message that says, "If I am overweight maybe I should be ashamed of my body and not go to my reunion." I realized after reading this email that I hadn't properly express my true, pure joy about this situation. So I felt the need to share my thoughts about this more in depth.
