The Red Sox (38-36) opened up their longest road trip of the season with a 2-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners Monday night at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. It's the Red Sox 2nd straight shutout win and 6th on the season. The Sox have won 6 in a row, 8 of 9 and 9 of 11. Aroldis Chapman struck out the side in the 9th to preserve the shutout and notch his 13th save of the season.-----Going with Gio: Lucas Giolito made the mound start in the series opener against the Mariners Monday night and he picked up his 3rd win of the season with 6 scoreless innings. Giolito finished up by retiring the final 12 hitters that he faced. He gave up 3 straight singles in the 3rd Inning and then came back and struck out the next 3 hitters. He turned in his 5th outing this season where he allowed 0 or 1 runs. -----1st for Roman: Roman Anthony got the Red Sox on the board with a 2-out, solo Home Run off Logan Gilbert in the 1st Inning.
