San Francisco is now the first city in the nation to ban rent-setting technology such as that offered by RealPage. City supervisors completely banned the sale and use of that software in a unanimous vote on July 30th. They say it has made the affordability crisis worse by raising apartment rents above competitive levels. RealPage says the city is not focusing on the real problem.
