(1) It’s the lowest rate of inflation we’ve seen in more than a year, and a big drop from a peak of 9.1% last summer. Lower oil prices accounted for most of the latest decline.   When you remove prices for fuel and food, the monthly core rate of inflation was .3% with an annual rate of 5.7%.
