Sinopsis
2021 marks 100 years since the discovery of insulin and we could think of no better place to hear the story of how it happened than from the folks at Banting House. That's literally the house where Sir Frederick Banting woke up with the idea that led to this life saving discovery. Curator Grant Maltman shares stories and takes us on a bit of an audio tour of the House. He explains how Dr. Banting got started, made the discovery (with help of course) and what the museum is doing to mark the occasion. It's a very interactive museum with everything from a letter writing campaign to Dr. Banting that's still going on, to a display of diabetes tattoos from around the world. More about Banting House Stacey also shares her idea to mark 100 years of insulin - with your help! This podcast is not intended as medical advice.
