Diagnosed in 2011 while deployed in Africa, he was able to return to the Army and retire on his own terms a few years later. Jason is an élite cyclist and now a cycling coach. Stacey mentions another veteran who was able to stay on active duty after a type 1 diabetes diagnosis.
